Default Nitrous User Friendly?

Hello,

I have a 2014 C7 Z51. I am not looking for a crazy build and 1000whp. I live in AZ and like the idea of a nitrous setup that I can have some fun with when I want and 95% of the time have a stock car.

My C7 is a manual. I was looking at a wet system. The install should be easy but what are some items I probably an not thinking about? The MAF adjust the fuel/timing automatically or will I need a tune? What would be reliable shot size for a stock motor?

Thanks

Disregard. I did a little digging and found a million and a half threads asking this same question. Thanks

as someone who literally went through nitrous tuning yesterday, I can tell you one thing that I did not find while reading through the forum.

If you are using a wet shot (which is safest), the best thing to do is read the throttle position and have the system shut off at closed. Most systems have some kind of "switched on/off" availability in settings. The thing is, the throttle position sensor uses a digital signal, and those systems have no way to pick up a digital signal. If the throttle closes (due to like 100 different reasons), you can potentially blow your engine, especially on larger shots. Pretty much the only thing you can do in regards to this is wire that switch to read the gas pedal being depressed fully or not. Because the car is drive by wire (gas pedal goes to computer, computer says "open"), the throttle can close even when your foot is depressed. So yeah, not "the safest."

My system can do a 150 shot +, but the car can safely handle about a 100-125 shot. Ish. To safely run 150+, apparently I'd need to flash my tranny computer... Any traction control that kicks on can close the throttle.

So yeah, there's my two cents on the matter, and some stuff I didn't expect.

Nitrous is more trouble than it's worth. I ran it for 23 years too long before going with blower power adders. So much better.

I guess it comes down to personal opinion if nitrous is the way to go. I just installed NOS 05219 nitrous kit on my 2014 M7. it has its down side without throttle position but this kit comes with a progressive mini controller . that has RPM window limits. I still wouldnt use it with TC or launch control. here is a link to my install on you tube.
so far I have only used the 75HP jetting. The kit has jetting up to 150HP. Only changes is colder spark plugs on stock tune and highest octane gas you can find. They advise separate fuel supply if over 175 HP up to 250HP.. It would be good to retard spark 2 degrees for every 50HP but that is not easy to do but they have electronics out there to do that but its not cheap. The system just delays the coils firing. Nitrous is not for everyone but if you know what you are doing it can be used safely.
