It just seemed like your engine bay was configured differently than mine so thought it was a different model. The cameras can really play tricks I have found out.
No new updates. Currently it is sitting on my kitchen table. Working out the plumbing, hood fitment, and additional cooling. Most people forget when you add power you add heat and this heat needs to be dissipated. I am looking at the track heat exchangers for the C7 ZR1, I hate heat, and will do anything to get rid of it. I was a fool and went down the path of adding more liquid volume, but failed to get rid of all of this heat soaked liquid. Cheers!
The 3.0 blower is worlds better than the 2.9. I had my 2.9 ported by Kong and gained virtually nothing (he estimated 50-70 HP lol…waste of $1500). I went from 955 WHP on the ported 2.9 to 1059 WHP on the 3.0 with the same pulley combo. The 3.0 cooling bricks are massive and dwarf the 2.9 bricks. It is tall though and even on my Camaro I had to install some subframe spacers to bring the engine down 1/2” or so, so you Vette guys will have more to do I’m sure. One other benefit is the 3.0 has precast bungs to allow for port injection, and Katech offers a service to drill the port bungs in for you (and provide rails, injectors, etc). But Whipple is NOT supportive of that at all FYI. Not sure why they cast the bosses in and then give you a hard time for pulling the runners off to get the bungs drilled out…?!? I did it anyway.

Thanks for the pics and info. Mine came from Whipple with PI rails and CNC’ed bungs. Mine is C7 Lt4 specific with the C7 inlet. I only know of 3 that were made for the C7 Z06, long 5 year story/wait. Waiting to get a hood and some additional cooling mods; winter project. Not sure why Whipple doesn’t support PI. Mine is a Gen 6 so maybe that is a difference, what Gen is yours? Supposedly there is a 3.6 or 3.8 that will fit the C7. The C7 does need a custom hood or a modified ZR1 hood. I think MADLAND has his pretty much put together.

You’re welcome. 👍
So Whipple casts the blower runners with bosses for the PI injectors but doesn’t want you taking the runners off the blower…which you need to do in order to machine the injector bungs open. 🤷♂️ Maybe Whipple was aggravated I didn’t have them do it. In any event Katech did a great job. I was careful bolting up the runners…I carefully torqued them down like I was doing a cylinder head gasket. I’ve had no problems since adding the port injection.
My blower is Gen 5. But 5 vs 6 doesn’t matter as that just refers to the internal rotor pack. I heard they were going to release the 3.8 version for the LTx engines but they have not yet done so. Whipple treats LTx car owners like red headed stepsons lol…they’re too busy doing everything Ford.
Mines not done yet either still waiting on Whipple. But I did get a taller hood. The original plan was to lower the engine to clear the hood but decided to get a new hood. That thing looks massive! Can't wait for mine to be installed.
I doubt the whipple outperforms the 2650 on the dyno pulling WHP numbers. I do expect it to deliver some higher torque numbers based on the twinscrew setup. In the real world, the blowers should be very comparable on the street and track (1/8, 1/4).
