Default Porting stock intake

I'm thinking of having my stock lt1 intake manifold ported. The question that I have is, will opening up the snout (flange where the throttle body mounts) for a 95mm throttle body weaken it too much for boost? I currently run a solar ported throttle body. I'm at 9.3lbs of boost with a p1x. Thanks in advance!

I am running an EdgyVette ported manifold with a procharger . I'm not sure if its opened up to a 95 MM , I posted a picture below . @Cajun @ Edgyvette is a member here , you can also contact him thru the Edgyvette website

I also bought an EdgyVette ported intake. ~$350. Money very well spent.

Measured it against the stock intake and saw around .030-.040 difference at the inlet. Dyno'd back to back I saw ~15hp increase in the midrange and maybe 2hp up top. More than anything, it increased my redline by 750/800RPM. I am also running an A&A supercharger.

I have 600rwhp/545tq with an M7

Default Ported Intake

Well, just got my stock intake back from GPI and re-installed. Temperature is not the same as last fall, but now I'm at 7.2 lbs of boost. I was looking to lower boost, has anyone had simular results? I didn't record atmospheric pressure, temp, blah, blah, just looking to see if stock lt1 intake porting usually results in 1.5 ro 2 lbs of boost loss - generally. Thanks!

Boost is a byproduct of restriction, reduce restriction reduces boost but increases power (in most cases) ....

Make sure you check your belt as they stretch ....
After really tightening my belt as I was battling some belt slip and was only getting 5 to 5.5 pounds of boost, as you know I have a ported intake, ported throttle body, 1 7/8 headers into high flow cats and a 3-inch mid-pipe and a stock 4.5-inch Procharger pully below are my numbers
It was 75 degrees and sunny today here in ATL low DA, perfect boost weather .... I may or may not have made a run today on the "Streets of Mexico" my boost gauge records max boost which today it was 7.2 Pounds .. I was on my brand-new Michelin PS4's street tires not my drag radials and had TC on and even putting some heat into them it still was a bit of a pedal fest as it was fighting for traction all the way thru the top of 2nd gear

I am really fighting the urge to pully down .....

Can't wait for Atlanta Dragway to open this year, even if its 1/8-mile IHRA ....

Thanks for the input. Weird, my procharger came with 4.25. That had me at 7.6lbs, went to a 4.13, increased boost to 9.3, ported intake and boost went to 7.2. Car sure doesn't feel any slower, thats for sure!

That is true of a positive displacement SC. It shovels air into the closed container of the cylinder.

CSCs, Turbos, and Lysholm Screw superchargers compress air which = boost.

Check your belt , it has to be tighter that you feel comfortable with
