What do you want in a C7?
When the C5 came out it was everything the C4 was and more. With C6 there were a few take-aways - not as much storage space and the cockpit got a little smaller. Fuel mileage dropped but HP and Torque went up plus the interior was 10x nicer than the C5.

I'd like the mileage to go up. Nobody buys a Corvette for the mileage but the C5 got terrific economy, that would be nice to see again. I have the DIsplacement on Demand in my Yukon and it is seamless. If the Vette had this option my only addition would be to switch to 4-cyl mode when stopped at a light - why does it waste gas in all 8 cylinders when 4 is more than enough with no load on the engine?
A legit sequential manual tranny option.
It NEEDS the industry standard communications features - Bluetooth is a must, available iPod integration and I'd personally love it if there was a bus interface so a V-1 or Escort could display on the HUD.
I really want GM to do away with the forced packaging of options. It sucks and frankly has kept me from buying a C6. If I could get a base model with Z51 and a HUD, I'd have pulled the trigger two years ago. As it is, If I have to buy option level 3 just to get the HUD, I'm waiting till my C5 falls apart. I used to think this made building the cars easier but having seen the line at Bowling Green with Euro spec cars and Z06es all running as the same time as coupes and verts I can't believe that it is true.
I'd like tire options as well as wheel options. Yeah, chrome is nice but if I can get that chrome rim with Pilot Sports or P-Zeros I might opt for that from the factory instead of the cheapest W/T package and a set of aftermarkets as soon as it hits the ground.

Al frame, carbon body, CCM brakes, carbon fiber/ magnesium wheels, magnesium exhaust. Variable valve timimg a la the new viper, direct injection, DoD all this added to the LS7. Maybe make it a little bit bigger wheel base to improve the weight distribution. I thought it was funny that GM made such an effort to shorten the C6 car when Ferrari supersized all theirs for improved weight distribution. Real tire options, regular manual tranny, no chrome wheels.

Not me, I want a Corvette I can afford. If I wanted a Ferrari, I'd buy a Ferrari.
Magnesium exhaust? Can that even be done? Magnesium is flammable you know.
I can see direct injection and VVT as good hp and economy boosts.
I thought the C4 was the perfect size for a Corvette and then the C5 got HUGE. The C6 is closer to a good size for me. The length didn't really shrink much but they pushed the wheels out for a longer wheel base. I think the weight distribution is like 51/49, not much room for improvement there.

Still waiting for a decent enough new model to make me want to sell my c4.
here's what I want..
-Direct injection, reduction in engine size maybe 5.0 L dohc v8 that spins to 8500 rpm.
- a body that does nut use the fugly c5 mirrors

What I would like to see in the new C7 is …. new engine technology. Rotary electrical driven valves with infinite valve timing (I invented this technique with only one large valve per cylinder that opens both intake and exhaust ports). Ignition free high compression engines. Actual corvette engines are old fashioned I think … car constructors are not free (from a political and economical point of view) … they build gas guzzlers when we ask them to do so ...to boost petroleum industry’s profit … believe me they have several methods to get better MPG ..but will they go for it ???
As for design .. I would love to design it
I would just like to bring the attention of some of you on an important point … with the future laws coming … power + light weight = $$$$$$$$ …so are you really willing to have the future C7 at 150 000 $ base price ?? no miracles can be done …either GM keeps the Vette’s prices reasonable and drop power (as in 1973) or invest in new techniques but this will push the prices up. …so think about it.

I would like to see a FWD Corvette. LOL.
In all seriousness it is too early for me to say what I would like to see in the C7 due to the rapid changes in technology these days. However, I am going back to imports with my next car (flame suit on). Main reason I'm going import
1. Easier to work on
2. AWD turbo = most fun on a track
3. Cheaper parts
4. Still good gas mileage
BTW I'm getting a 2009 Wicked White Evo X

Because of a personal pet peeve with my C6...
I want a Corvette that doesn't have loose rubbing interior parts that make all kinds of racket. I know the argument is always "it is a performance car bargain, so there are compromises". But for me a car that costs over 50k should not sound like an old junker with all the rattles & creaks like my car has. It can be engineered to eliminate that without costing a ton more $ if they wanted to.

tube frame, 2400 pounds, twin turbo v6, paddle shift auto/manual twin cluch 7 speed trans, led lights and some very spectacular paint smooth like silk. aw drive. better interior with thin shell seats. when wishing, might as well shoot for the moon.

I think this suggestion may be achievable, however it may/would require GM to do a bit of re-tooling.
I'd like to see a retro throw back 1963 split window coupe, with all of the technology of today in it, along with the great new accesories and horsepower options.
That said, I think people would wait in line to order one of these...
It would be really nice if the C7 would come standard with 505 HP, a selectable NPP exhaust, RAM AIR filter system, bluetooth, IPOD interface with the NAV system standard, a choice of tires, and more HUD choice options.
