Default C7 Corvette

So I wanted to get some feedback from people. If you had the oppertunity to tell GM where you wanted the next gen vette to go, what would you have them do to the car? What should the next gen vette look like?

take a C5, put in a higher quality updated interior and electronics. put in a bigger newer series engine. stick stock HIDs and LEDs all over the place. you'd have a perfect vette.

and leave CAGS out of is this time.

I'm sure with the introduction only about two model years away - the appearance is pretty much nailed down. And since this has nothing to do with C5 General and the forum has a place to discuss this - this thread will most likely get locked or moved....

Give back the leg room removed from the C-6. Put in a multi-display HUD therefore more information available such as maps to the passenger. Allow the passenger to input nav destinations while moving. Give back the on-board diagnostics because most of us can't afford a trip to the dealer in order to read the codes in the C-6 whereas the C-5 is good. Fix the assembly line process therefore allowing us to get perfect alignments from the factory rather than only somewhere in the ballpark. In the ordering process, allow the buyer to get different body panel combinations such as the Coupe to Z06 panels if desired. Change the paint to make it harder as its too soft and susceptible to small rock damage to easily. Offer "Clear-Bra" from the factory. The C-5 handles much better than the C-6 and the why is unknown...but go back to whatever makes the C-5 easier to drive.

Now there's a list of items I've never seen before.

Definitely right on that legroom. But the looks, steering, power and suspension are more to my liking on the C6.

Default C7 Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car that has been manufactured by General Motors since 1953. Today it is built at a General Motors assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but in the past it was built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri. The National Corvette Museum and annual National Corvette Homecoming are also located in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

For body style, work off the c6 zo6 style but shorten the vehicles length.Kill the rear hatch with "bubble window" and go for a trunk with c5 hardtop coupe style.IMO to much glass in rear. Bigger side vents.20" wheels. The interior should get more supportive seats.Better padded center console.Drivetrain should get an improved auto manual transmission.Maybe a side exhaust option with aggressive sound.

Default C7 Corvette

That's not to say it will be competing with the Volt, but Corvette Vehicle Line Executive Tom Wallace gave some hints as to where the C7 will be going during the Detroit Auto Show. According to Wallace, a C7 that's 300-400 lbs lighter and has 150hp less from a 4.7L V-8 would have a similar power-to-weight ratio to the current 6.2L 405hp C6 model. GM has already demonstrated direct injection on the small block V-8 and the combination of a smaller displacement DI engine with a dual-clutch-transmission would likely easily meet the fuel economy rules for at least the middle years of the next decade.
