I have to say that it is some piece of design work...and would probably go down as one of the most if not the most radical production design from GM. C8? the C7 isn't even here yet! Autoweek just feels like selling magazines
Either the car is huge or the interior is child-sized. This is not the smaller more efficient car the article claims is in Corvette's future. Bollocks on top of bollocks.
It can't be built for the mASSES of America. American cars have to be made for the average American in which case means someone who is fat. Mid engine cars are generally a little "difficult" for your average morbidly obese fat guy to get in and out of. Ever see a 250 lbs+ guy in a Gallardo? If you have been in any of those types Ferrari/GT40/Lamborghini/R8 then you know how much lower they are than a corvette not to mention the seats are so much more snug.
I wish these pics were true but GM needs to sell the car to more than a few thousand people a year.
And the grill is the exact same from the Stingray concept.
Wait a minute--a magazine predicting auto styling two model generations forward?. Sure, except I'm still waiting for the Personal Pod aircraft, floating cities and other stuff the auto magazines of the 1950's and '60's predicted for the year 2000.
they're using that stingray concept as a base it seems. they took away the split rear window ( which one of the bigwigs said would be on the c7), and changed the front headlights a bit. Here's a few things tho that they'll change. I think they'll evolve those front headlights a little bit, and take away the big ducts in the front. I think they'll also change the back quite a bit too- im sure they'll keep the horizontal taillights that corvettes are known for. I'm also sure they'll keep the front engine design as well
I'm having a hard time picturing what these styling exercises of the Sting Ray would look like after they spent time in a wind tunnel. You can do a lot with local styling adjustments and a lot with under the chassis air flow but somewhere you've got to deal with all the airtraps!!
Go look at the horrible air flow on the original Sting Ray racers vs the smooth lines of the Brock designed Daytona Coupe.

There will be an option for the interior called the "anti space aliean **** probe"
