Default ETA for C7??

So now that 2011's are out, makes me wonder when we could expect the C7, or even just GM's unveiling of their official plans/design for C7. After all don't we normally have this info at least a year or so in advance to production? If that's the case it looks as if it will come no sooner that 2013? C5 ran 7 years, and if C6 did the same then wouldn't we expect it out 2012? Maybe they're planning on running this one with the looong life span of the C3...?

Joke. And I LOL'd when I read it. I think the poster is trying to say that we're too far out to estimate an ETA now...

I think if it will be 2013, GM is doing an amazing job of keeping it a secret. If it will be 2014 or later, I think GM is being stupid not to say it will be longer than they anticipated. I can see a lot of people waiting a couple years for the new model, but they might not want to wait if it is going to be 3-4 years.

I think the real thing will be unveiled within the next year or two, probably at the Detroit Auto Show or something. I hope its resembles the Stingray concept but also i hope gm refines some of the parts on the concept (like give it some real tail lights and get rid of those massive holes in the front and rear of the car).

Indeed. With the internet, and all the spys out there, how in the world has nothing leaked yet?? Im worried they're still a long ways from anything solid.. I'm not patient, want to see what Chevy's got in store for us..

With all of the cameras out there you would think a C7 in development would be on the roads for extensive testing! Maybe they got smart and are using the C6 shell for the looks...

C5 Spy History

Above - January, 1995 - The first C5 picture appeared in print (Automotive News)

Above - Automotive News - October 28, 1996 - Along with sister Crain Communications publication AutoWeek, AN showed the first public pix of an undisguised C5.

Above - The C5 was introduced as a 1997 model (coupe only) in March, 1997

C6 Spy History

Above - April 28, 03 Jim Dunne scored the first C6 spy shots and AutoWeek published them.

Above - November 16, 2003 - One of two pix caught during a GM publicity photo shoot by Benjamin Kopf IV of San Francisco and contributed to CorvetteForum.com. He gets the BIG prize for the first shots of the final version!

Above - On Sunday evening, January 4, 2004 at 7:00 pm, the 2005 Corvette was officially announced to the world.

C7 Spy Lead

Well, if you do the math, the C5 was caught over two years before introduction, but the C6 was only caught about 8 months before intro. Conclusion? GM is getting a whole lot better at hiding these things, particularly when the change is not radical. The C7 spy shot lead may be a lot shorter than 8 months. Whadda ya think?

Great post.

I'm wondering if GM is really doing that good of a job at keeping the secret or they aren't yet at a point where there is a secret to keep. Let's hope it's the first one.
