The Porsche 918 RSR is what the C8 "could" be like. I am as anti Porsche as I can be, believing that the whole car line with the exception of the Boxter/Cayman is a true tribute to California buying power, development engineering over design and auto writer ignorance.
BUT, the elements in the 918 are very Corvette compatible; mid-rear engine, V8, non battery energy storage (flywheel). You can be GM is looking at that one very closely.
