I don't care about the engine or the looks or the interior....because I know it will be great.
I'd love to get back into a vette but don't want another C6 as I already rode that train for a while.
So just curious, for planning purposes, when the next car is coming out. Will the do the same thing with the HOcars? Base model year 1, Z06 model year 2, ZR1 model year 3-4??
No! We do NOT have to "wait and see". We can pry and probe and find info from those that know and then share that on a forum. Wait and see............ yeah, right............. NOT!!!!!
Yesterday I spoke to the GM of my local Chevy dealer whom has sold me cars and I know quite well. He met with Chevy last week and was informed the the C7 will be a 2013 model arriving sometine in the 2nd half of next year. This is exactly what I have been hearing from contacts at the factory. Then, last night i was reading the new Car & Driver and a short article stated the same. I think this is quite reliable since the sales of Corvettes are WAY down, and Chevy wants to get the C7 out ASAP. The 2012 C6 arriving late this summer will be the 8th edition. The C6 has run it's course and the C7 needs to arrive sooner rather than later if Corvette wants to compete in sales. Also, the C7 interior will be vastly improved...the best Vette interior ever by far.

Thanks for the info. I'm kind of surprised that GM would waste an opportunity to sell a 60th anniversary edition C6 in 2013. I guess they'll have to find another car to put cheesy decals on that year.

I agree, GM needs to get a C7 into production asap, I have purchased three C6's a 2006, 2008, and a 2010 GS vert and have no intention of ordering another C6.
I hope your sources are accurate, however, "a 2013 model arriving sometine in the 2nd half of next year" seems very difficult to accomplish with the lack of spy images and official data at this point in time. Does anyone remember when the first images and data on the C6 appeared prior to the official release date in late 2004 as the 2005 model?

I sure hope you are correct, I would like nothing more than to put another Vette back in my garage.

I'm not very optimistic that the C7 will be for sale in 2012. There would have been some spy pix by now and I don't think GM would do such a good job keeping this a secret. Don't be suprised to see it for sale until 2013 or even 2014, I do hope I'm wrong because the C6 is getting old faster than the C5 did and if you havent noticed, customers arent exactly lining up for them as there are too many 2010's and even 2009's sitting unsold at the dealerships. To get the customers lining up again they need to come up with an all new design and keep the pricing where they are now. I hope GM hits a home run with the C7 and doesnt just make a C6.5.

Unfortunately I think you're probably right. As much as I'd love to see the C7 available next year I have serious doubts it actually will be. If that were the case, I'm sure we would've heard something definitive by now. Then again, it is still only January and things could ramp up pretty quickly here in the next couple months. Let's all keep our fingers crossed as it's time for a NEW 'Vette.
C7 ZR1 not crazy about the article what happened to exclusivity guess not. Mr Leno could be really off when he stated the C6 ZR1 is the last of it's kind with this kind of HP. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and yes i do want a C7
Chevy is beginning to gear up for the C7 which will be out in the 2nd half of next year as a 2013 model. It will be built in BG contrary to rumors of a move to Lansing, Mi. The C7 will not be drastically different from the C6, but different enough to generate a huge boost in sales. The big differences will be in the new engine, which will give better performance and better fuel economy, and a completely new interior that will be on par with cars such as Audi. The body (whose design has been completed) will be different but not drastically different...kind of like the differences from the C5 to the C6.
The big Corvette push will be for the C7 to the C8. The C8 will be an entirely new car, most likely mid engine. The C7 will be a 4-5 year run, tops! My info comes from people very closely associated with Chevrolet, people whom I have know for years and trust.
