This is a paragraph from the most recent post on autoextremist.com regarding an interview of Dan Akerson.
"And he has also killed a hot engine for the next-generation Corvette, as if he’s got the first clue as to what he’s doing or why. This is Dan Akerson live and in living color, folks, bringing his remarkable arrogance and nuanced cluelessness to bear on key product decisions that will affect GM’s competitive stance for years to come. And trust me, it’s going to get u-g-l-y. " -Peter M. De Lorenzo

Fortunately, it's De Lorenzo. That way there's only a 20% chance its correct.

According LMR the C7 is in clay model stage, with final decisions still to be made on body and engine.
Sounds like the C7 is a ways off.

Much of the C7 under-pinnings are likely to be "tooling" around in a somewhat innocuouis package until the final shaped body is available... I wouldn't get too upset about the "clay" rumor-mill......

Burning Brakes
Unless you work within GM on the C7 project and have access to their timelines, your information will not be accurate.
Having said that, if the brakes were already put on a hi-po engine that could be bad news... where's Lutz when we really need him!

If the engine design is frozen (?)..... I sure hope the people intimately involved know something Mr Akerson doesn't!!!!!! Maybe Mr Akerson would be happy, considering his likely political connections, if all were also painted "green"...........

Melting Slicks
Akerson, just like Whitacre, is a business man trying to make money. he is not a car guy like Bob Lutz, William Clay Ford, or even Akio Toyoda. sad for Corvette lovers, but true. with the Corvette sales like they are, there will likely be lots of cuts on the path to the new C7.
