Count me in the VERY small majority, but I am not a fan of things that are not rock-simple and tested. Honda has VTEC down, and Dodge has Cam-in-Cam down. I want GM to use new technology on the 'vette, but only after it is...vetted. I do NOT want GM to use the C7 as a T&T platform and its customers as guinea pigs. This is a sentiment I developed while in the firearm community (which I am an active part of) regarding many of the piston conversions for the AR-15. A lot of companies used customers as T&E'ers for long-term reliability. I hate that kind of behavior, and expect better from GM.

I am not at all implying that GM would do this, I am simply saying that every time a massive amount of new technology previously unavailable becomes available in a production unit of any type, it's impossible to T&E all the bugs out of it. How many bugs are T&E'ed out during the developmental stage varies.

For example: The LS1 when it came out had a TON! of issues. Minor to be sure, but a real PITA. The LS1 in 1999 had less issues. 2004's LS1 had even less issues. The 2005 LS2 was pretty issue-free comparatively, and the LS3 has no issues that are really common. The LS platform has matured.

I would like to see mature, new technology in the new 'vette. If that costs 10-15bhp and 1mpg, that's fine. Lets take baby steps on power-train technology and go from there. Like LS2 to LS3. Baby steps.

I fully expect DI. DI, and superior valve-train attributes and maybe a new combustion chamber design to maximize the DI.

Problem is, where would these new technologies first appear if not in the flagship models? I don't think there's any way around it. I think people expect cutting edge technologies to appear first in high end vehicles, then trickle down over the years into the mainstream.

What does everyone have against Bose? I always thought they made some of the best speakers out there...I have a bose suround system for my computer and TV, and they are both awesome. Literally, movie theater sound quality.

Maybe Corvette just gets sup par speaker equipment from Bose to cut costs?

They can do that with the Cadillac CTS cars then. I dont want AWD in my Corvettes.

Yes, we've figured that out Justin.

And we're not talking about AWD anyway. That's not exactly new and cutting edge...

You can not win against audiophiles. There are some people that I have seen who spent over 2 million (yes million) dollars on home theater speakers for their home and still bitch about the sound quality.

That link should give you some idea of a high end speaker system.

Either way, I'm happy with Bose, I think they are excellent
