Nice. I really like the rear diffuser section. Don't care for the wheels though. Hopefully the C7 will be much MUCH lighter than 3,500 lbs and less expensive than $80K.
Look beyond the exterior....twin turbo V-6 getting 41mpg. That's the important part. With all the talk about the C7 will need to have a large V8, the competition is going with smaller, more efficient motors. We need to accept that it's the future of motorsports.
The Jag will be a base v-6, supercharged v-6, and a supercharged hybrid, I am sure three different price points. So I would think a base 2012 (redesigned) Cayman, the base 2013 v-6 jag, and a base 2014 C7 will be close in price. Enough for me to cross shop the cars.
As the cars come closer to reality the picture will become clearer. Future looks good for sports cars.
Who needs spy shots of a new Porsche? Let me guess....it looks JUST like the previous model, but with one new bump or vent somewhere?
As for that Jag, I'm glad Jag has come back from being an old folk's car like it was in the 90's, but at this point, we either need to just kill the Jag brand and add their cars to the Aston Martin line up, or kill Aston Martin, and add their cars to the Jag line up. It's a tad silly, seeing Aston Martin's with a cat on the front, know what I mean?
Also of note, someone who would buy a Jag, unless it's the xkR, isn't someone that would appreciate the corvette in the first place. Jag's are sportY luxury cars, sacrificing a lot of speed in favor of comfort. I would say the M3 is a better competitor, as it's a much better marriage between luxury and performance, for the same price, or even less. I think Jag has a good ways to go before they are back to where they were in the 60s. And until they ARE, I don't really pay much attention to them. Maybe because I'm 30. Maybe if I were 50+ years old, that sort of thing would be more appealing to me?

You do realize that Jaguar and Aston martin are not in anyway related, right? Jaguar is owned by Tata of India and Aston Martin is not.
Of late Jags are starting to look like Aston Martin which in itself just rehashes the same design language...boring. Don't get me wrong I love Aston Martins but I would not buy a Jag over a vette considering the realiability of Jags. The Cayman would be something I would consider.

I never considered a Jag for the same reason, but they NOW have 5 years warranty and free full maintenance.

Debage most any newer Jag, and put it next to a debaged Aston, and let 50 people see them, and ask those 50 people which is which.
If Jag has nothing to do with Aston Martin, then they should be getting sued. The contours of these cars is more than just similar, they are the SAME. They have been designed by a guy with tracing paper.

I may be wrong, but I believe Ian Callum designed the recent Astons and is now head of Jaguar Design, so the similarities are to be expected. Astons are stunning cars...and the newer Jags look great as well. I would definitely consider an "R" version of the new C-X16 over a C6, but until the C7 is revealed, I couldn't make a choice. I would never, however, own a Jaguar without a warranty. Having said that, the S-Type Jaguar that my wife drives has been flawless in 48,000 miles.
