This might seem but does anyone think the C7 could be nothing more than a virtual spin off of the Soltice/Sky vehicles, of course with the high performance attributes of Corvette. BTW there are Corvette powered Soltices' out there.

The Solstice and Sky chassis were built with a labor-intensive process, chosen in order to save on tooling costs and get into production more quickly. Their basic layout is copied from Corvette. That Kappa architecture is not worth saving or carrying forward.
C7 is a spin off of the C6. GM has confirmed this.

Do you have a link to where GM has confirmed this? I think this would be a large (as in huge) mistake after all they have said about big changes coming to appeal to a younger and more global audience. I have held off purchasing a new sports car based on these announcements. If the C7 is a updated C6 I won't be buying one. I'm betting I won't be the only one.
Seriously? Do I have a link? How about the articles that started half the topics in this forum? Come on, man, I've seen you around here, you know this.

Yeah, nothing worse than trying to improve on a front mid-engine car that has 430 hp, does 0-60 in four seconds, tops out at 185 and gets 26mpg on the highway. That's a terrible baseline.
