A disappointing leftover from the C6 is the A pillar. The flat black plastic has always looked cheap whenever I notice it, and the crap weather stripping that turned spotted after the first week of owning the car doesn't help either.
There is nothing different about a corvette then any other rear drive car in the snow. The only thing possibly stopping it is going through 5 inches of snow on the road, but heck 5 inches of snow ON THE ROAD will stop a lot of cars.
5 inches won't
At least not on level ground. Drove about 4 miles. Victoria, Texas, Christmas Eve 2004. We don't usually get snow... Ever. Last measurable snow before this was 1989 (I think). Caught off guard (obviously). First experience driving in it. First gear the whole way, not really a problem.
The C4 was back at home waiting on me (this was later that night)
Back on topic, I hate the tail lights in the sketch.....
Everyone keeps saying that AWD sucks and shouldn't be on the Corvette. But considering all pictures aside, it makes me wonder if AWD is the "Bold" new direction the GM manger said the car would have.
I think a lot of people are thinking the pictures don't look like a real change in the car, so this seems that it could be the "new' thing they are doing. And it would make many of use drop jaw in awe.
Unless of course, this AWD discussion happens each time they announce they are doing a model. Then I have no bearing on anything. lol.

There will be no AWD C7 Corvette. Period. End of story. Just like the guys who thought there might be a DOHC or V6 High revving turbo engine...
It ended up being another small block OHV Chevy V8. There are somethings that are staples for Corvette. OHV V8, and RWD are two of them.
Ever notice how all of the high performance models of corvettes are manual transmission? ZR-1, Z06, ZR1, etc. There is a pattern here for people if they choose to see it...
If you want AWD, go buy an Evo. Or an STI. Or a GTR. Or a Porsche AWD model. You have options. Those options don't include the Corvette. At least not for the foreseeable future.

I don't really want an AWD corvette, I was just thinking outloud that would be something that would be a bold change that would send everyone for a loop.
But I have to say that you say "for the foreseeable future". Well if chevy ever did decide to come out with that model, everyone would be in the same position as you until it happens. That could be this year, or next or 20 years from now. Since we don't design, we really have no idea what they will do and when.
Right now, I enjoy drifting too much to have an AWD.
I prefer RWD because it is alot more fun to drive in my opinion, and I dont take my car out in rain or any other increment weather. But I also like modding my car, and because of the RWD I have to be careful to not add too much power otherwise the car would do nothing but spin the wheels. What good is lets say 600hp if you cant even use it?
The only rectification for that problem is to add the Z06 tires to the rear, and then you should change the rear 1/4 panels so it doesnt look silly with tires sticking out. A conversion like that is pretty costly.
The rear tail lights are nice, but the lower end looks like those body kits you would find on ricers. Maybe its the shading you added, that is giving it that depth and whatnot.
Going to withhold judgment. These early guessers usually get it wrong... hope that is the case with these images. Have owned Corvettes since buying my first new car in 1978. Currently have '06 coupe, '07 Convertible, '10 Camaro Coupe, and '11 Camaro Convertible and love them all..... but, if they build it like the video, my next car will be .....
Does anyone think there is a little more credibility to the add rumors that were initially floating around? Of course this could just be temperature testing, but there is a chance that the C7 will at least offer one performance model with awd to remain competitive amongst younger buyers.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
