Clearly visible at 41 seconds, both sides are circle in shape. This can be seen under the square painted parts that cover them, under the tarp.
I'd stated that a few weeks back as well. I'm also not so sure that the tail lights are going to be exactly as they appear to be shown in the Jalopnik or Car & Driver renderings as everyone else seems to think. I don't know what the sources or basis for the tail portion of the renderings actually are but there is a chance that those tail lights were simply tacked on there to fool the public back then...or there is even a chance that the (barely visible) round ones in the video above are there to do the very same now LOL.
The square or 'trapezoidal' shapes we're seeing might very well be just tape and stickers tacked on (over actual round tail lights) to merely look that way.
I dunno.
haven't seen a 7speed manual i like that pic! i love the duel clutch trannys but it really takes the fun and the skill out of driving the car to a point. anyone can slap a paddle shifter but not throw the gears. i'll be happy with either one though.
As I've said before, at this point in development, the production lenses are probably not available, and these are cobbled-together units, just sufficient to make the vehicle road legal for testing.

This is getting old, the leds make roundish shapes, but the bezel that holds the lenses is trapizoidal. I like it and I want one. The more people that don't like it the more I want one. I am growing tired of this talk and ready for some trans, motor, options, leaks.
We all have had a look, just take the Jalopkin cartoon drafts and add in roundish LEDs Behind the lends, with the car off the Jalopkin dead on, with running lights or break lights you see the round shape under the lenses. It is a mix of oldschool and newschool what's not to like.

Stupid phone, With the car Off the Jalopkin drafts are true, but you lose lots of details from a true HD photo, like how LEDs light up with running lights and brake lights.
Another thing to consider is that the lights could easily just be placeholders at this point in the car's development. The angular housings may house production lights which match their shape, but the temporary placeholders are round. This threw off many people on the Camaro's headlights.

Ok cool...well that should solve a lot of problems then, if what you're saying is fact then the Corvette will retain it's traditional round tail lights (and NOT have the 'oh so dreaded' Camaro tail lights).
Long-term "real-world" status update on this (a buddy of mine texted me about this post and asked why I haven't shared; so here ya go) :
It's been 1 year & 3 months since I installed the Morimoto Tail Lights & Morimoto headlights in Nov of 2020; I have not had any new issues with the tail lights after my above posts (Nov-2020) when I went back into the bumper & slathered dielectric grease over every connection & then wrapped said connections with electrical tape. I can honestly say that since my previous posts, I've regularly checked my tail lights before departing my home just to ensure they were working, and so far, no issues.
Now, I will say that the Morimoto C7 headlights are another story; While they continue to work consistently, (the headlights, high beams and sequential turn signals do indeed function properly), the main issue I have is vibration of the headlight beams (Both the Low beams & high beams have a noticeable vibration that results in "Shaky beams" while driving) ... It doesn't adversely affect the light pattern, but is still VERY annoying - it's especially noticeable when I pull up behind another car at night, I can see both headlight beams vibrating constantly, even at idle (with no major engine mods).
With the above said, and while I've received a metric crap-ton of positive comments on both the tail lights & head lights, I wanted to be brutally honest in the event that it might help others.
