I believe I/we can quantify and some enjoy Chevy staving off and nullifying any AWD track benefit. By adding the five settings and performance traction control the Corvettes can now safely street real track tires which all together is huge for performance and eliminates any need for all the mass of AWD.
2) Edited out the paddles for the detractors. They are expensive and not necessarily needed!
3) Lives! I THINK US VETTE ENTHUSIASTS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE!

Paddle shifters have been said to be coming.

Has everyone forgotten how to drive? You have a throttle. Use it. You have (or should have) a clutch and shifter. Learn how to use it.
When I do any spirited driving the first thing I do is turn all the nannies off. You are not going to learn anything with the car saving you from your own inadequacies.

It's time people got back to the art of driving.

Damn right! I'm going to go throw my computer out the window and buy a filing cabinet.
Replace the TV with a radio, trade the Ipod for an AM/FM radio, and go back to using hand written receipts.
I have no problem with all the tech features, in fact I prefer them. A computer can react MUCH faster than I can. What I do want is a manual transmission.

And thanks I wanted to write about this subject, since, it is all over the C7 posts.
Way back I couldn't understand why if it was so common to throw a V8 in really light cars it wasn't being done by the manufacturers? And why did the engines intakes have a built in rebellion against RPM?
Actually, there has been as late a car without the electronic stuff that we all know and love. I have heard it was the most expensive car to insure, since, its big power and unthinking drivers regularly put it into hard unmoving objects on the road sides.
Traction control is good enough for Le Mans, and it is cheaper/possible to let the electronics pick up the inbalances that arise in any car design. IE The ZR1s (supercharger weight) vs the Z06s Lower center of gravity.
Anyway, the electronic stuff has saved my *** many times! And we don't need 500lb of rice!

Mero ran the Ring with at least traction control ON!
