Major Competitors of the C7
I know much of this has been addressed in individual threads but just read some info on the 2013 GT500 certified at 662 HP
http://rumors.automobilemag.com/ford...62-129457.html
C7 has some major competition from the 2013 GTR to the 2013 Viper, the 2013 GT500, the coming NSX, and who knows what else.
Chevrolet needs to really hit it out of the park with the C7, otherwise when the time comes for me to move on from my 2011 ZR1, I may have to look elsewhere. If the C7 is a conservative update, I 'm just not sure it's going to cut it with such fierce competition.
All thoughts appreciated.

That GT500 at $55,000 is tempting.

This is one of about 5 useless/repetative threads that need to be locked, seriously folks...
Off topic, this isn't bashing at all, but has anyone REALLY looked at that motors spec sheet? It has to be de-tuned as F. When you compare it vs the ls9 or even lsA in the camaro,(oranges to tangerines I know), the numbers don't add up. It should make significantly more then even 662hp. It appears a solid 700hp motor on paper. Same for torque.

It's not all about HP! If so then one can buy a Miata and put $10K in performance mods and be faster than 90% of what's out there. The Mustang could have 800 HP and it's still not in the same class or has the substance of a Corvette. Two different cars...that's why GM made the Camaro.
Anyways, I think the new jaguar F type would be competition eventhough it will be priced higher than a base Corvette.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The driving experience of that Stang will be so much different than a Vette (not bad, necessarily, but certainly not what I and MOST Vette owners would want) that I find the comparisons ridiculous. After all, if HP were the only thing that mattered, all those Porsche owners would be running out and buying cheaper, higher powered Vettes! Oh, they're not? What's the matter with them
