I believe that was the (very valid) point that 'Racer X' was trying to make above.
Now, I'm not some over nationalistic or arrogant "USA rules all" type flag waver (though I have no problem with those that are) but German and Japanese manufacturing was literally flattened, destroyed, demolished in the '40s bro, that's a fact.
GM, Ford, Chrysler (among others) were still going strong at that point.
What has happened since that period is another story of course.

So, you think the German and Japanese auto industries only exist today because the US has allowed them to rebuild after destroying them in WWII?? True, I suppose, but it's a pretty strange viewpoint. Fortunately, the United States has never considered holding people down and punishing them after defeating them in war. Just the opposite in fact. The Marshall plan provided 4 years of reconstruction aid after the war. There's no way to know how things would have turned out without that aid but I suspect it wouldn't be much different. WWII ended 66 years ago and is really irrelevant to the discussion.

Mr McGirk. Sorry for not responding to your question. The answer is 2012 BMW Z4 28i.
Do you remember the question?
Indeed I do. I asked which car do you feel, currently produced or otherwise, is a superior car/better buy then your current Z4. Since you just responded with, well, your exact model, I take it you feel you purchased potentially the BEST car ever produced(heck let's narrow it down to currently produced). As you even passed up the turbo 6 by CHOICE according to previous posts, I can only assume then you genuinely feel your model Z4 is the best car out there. Is this correct or is there indeed a car you feel is better(M8 excluded shall we)?

Well, it hasn't been all for naught. I mean we almost. . . almost discussed the Marshall Plan. That could have been a great discussion on whether that was a good/bad/somewhere-in-between idea.

So was my Lexus.
A cheap Japanese luxury car is premium compared to a $55,000-125,000 car how?

Perhaps there is more of a history here than I am aware of, or perhaps these are just tongue-in-cheak comments to incite some of the other members, but is this an insinuation that the C6 is only a straight line performer and doesn't do well in the turns?

Also, why do we care how a car is transported again?

Like I said, I may not be aware of the history of some of these conversations so forgive my ignorance.

Don't feed him any more. He's an obvious troll because he's on the forums with nothing good to say about Corvettes. So it's simply obvious he's just stirring the hornet's nest.

Ignore him. It's going to take a while for him to leave. After all, he drives a slow car.

He is truly unaware that the C6 out brakes and corners anything BMW currently produces.

SO WHAT. Audi is a premium brand and they ship the cars like the vettes in the OP. I have seen them many times in the San Francisco area with all types of Audis. Big deal.

Lexus, Mercedes Benz, and BMW ship their cars in enclosed transports. That is their business. Every manufacturer has a choice. I like the fact that when I order a car my supplier is interested enough in the safety and well being of my car to take all steps required to protect it.

I'll take the open trailer and a $49k sports car that performs like (or even better than) a $95k sports car should instead thank you.
Boy are you drinking Kool aid with Rose colored
glasses on. No you got a 50K Chevrolet.
Complete with all the cheap gm materials.

I agree with cheap GM materials. And I don't think that is going to change with the C6.4 Corvette.
