Hmmm, the 2014 Chevy SS announced and pictures provided by GM...pretty early don't you think?
AGAIN, this is a new product, not the replacement for an existing one. Also, it's still camouflaged -- and just a NASCAR shell, not a production body. It's not like Corvette and doesn't support your case.

2014 Impala. Hardly a new product and that is a red herring even if it was. Guess you didn't see the interior pics. Not camouflaged.
And before you say a-ha, the 2014 Impala will hit the street before the Corvette, and it replaces what is essentially a fleet vehicle.
A-HA!!! You just want to argue but you want to see and hear more like we all do and don't deny it!
BTW, the Impala SS is NOT going to be a fleet vehicle.

And the present Impala is essentially a fleet vehicle. Obsolete but still sold without any advertising. GM is announcing the new one because they're ready for the old one to die.

I like that interior, shows that GM/Chevrolet is at least paying attention.
And this new Impala is a pretty big deal too, it's a far cry from the one that it replaces (a car itself that was still a 'decent' seller, even outside of fleet sales) so this thing (along with the new Malibu and Cruze) is sort of a (very positive) new direction for Chevrolet.
That all bodes quite well for the next Corvette in my opinion.
Hey, GM is doing very well and, for all the talk about the Mustang, the Camaro is still outselling it. I still think the 'stang looks like a brick. Does nothin for me.
easiest way i can think of this is with a past example. i was what? 19 when the 1997 corvette was released. i remember being surprised at just how cool the 1997 car was. had the public realized the 1997 was SO far ahead of the 1996 car i'm sure sales would have been even worse than they already were. we can only hope the c7 is as big of jump as the c4 to c5 was.
I read somewhere that one of the GM brass commented the C7 will be the last of the "traditional" Corvettes, and that the C8 will be a revolutionary make-over.
