Colors
These people coming up with these color predictions are definitely no where close to my wave length. I just hope Torch Red stays in the C7 Color Chart.

Interesting article, thanks. We have to remember that those color trends are for the ordinary sedans and suv's that most people buy. Corvettes and other sports cars always offer hotter, brighter, more exciting colors.
If past precedent holds true, expect many of the C6 colors to carry over to the C7, with a few new additions.
After all the fuss when Torch red was dropped and finally reinstated recently, I don't think it will be dropped again just yet. But hopefully there will be a matching red interior instead of the dark Cobalt red interior. For sure there will be a metallic red tintcoat exterior color too.
I hope they have some fun color choices for the C7. I'm getting tired of all the colorless colors on cars these days. It seems all you see on a new car lot are white-silver-gray-black.

Red, blue, yellow, orange too. At least at dealers around here.
Well, hopefully the remark about the year 2016 will be the first date those colors arrive on vehicles. So, while the rest of the cars on the road will be sporting earthen tones, the C7 of 2014 will be just plain sporty instead.

Its very annoying. Everyone buys white now because they think its a posh look like champagne was in the 90's. People are afraid to buy color for some reason. I would never buy a corvette in one of those boring colors.

I was actually talking about all cars having boring colors on dealer lots, not Corvettes specifically. The article referenced by the OP was about auto industry color trends. Corvettes tend to always be a bit more colorful and obviously more exciting looking.
Honestly, I gotta disagree with people saying the trend is still towards white-ish or brown-ish colors. I'm impressed with a lot of auto makers color choices lately. Kia is a surprisingly good example. The fortesedan and koup have a deep metallic blue, burnt orange metallic, a bright red, and a charcoal gray as well as the usuals. I believe that's currently their entry level car.
Ford's keeping pace with grabber blue, the new deep impact blue(awesome color, similar to their old sonic blue), bright red/candy Apple red, and gotta have it green for the mustang and some other models. Heck the focus got that tri coat yellow blaze or whatever it is and that was actually dropped from the mustang.
Some will only ever buy white or silver their whole life. There are plenty of other color for rest of us. I just hope they bring an atomic orangeish color back instead of the tomato color we have now...
They need Aubergine or Black Cherry... maybe with a pearl or candy look, base with a tinted clearcoat.
They put out a Black Cherry on the 370Z. It looks pretty good in full sunshine (so you can some some of the dark sparkle in it) but on overcast days.... It looks sort of like a dark bowel movement...

I think something has already changed starting with the 2013 colors. The new blue, Nite Race Blue, it is a metallic but there is no extra charge for the metalics. I am told they learned something from the Japan disaster. I dont understand paints but in the explanation they said something about more water based paints ...
