i like that a lot better than the jalopy renderings we've all seen. The difference is in the details, but that wasn't too bad by comparison. The jalopy is just plain ugly.
will still reserve final judgement until i see the actual photos and then a production car in person. And im damn glad i have my C6
Interesting. The front fenders look more stylized and bulbous. It has lost vents on the hood and rear fenders. Under the doors sticks out more. The tail lights loose the dip on the outside edge shown in the Omega video. The nose looks too sharp. The headlights don't mimic the camo car video.
I find it interesting that it is driving on the left side of the road through the curving tunnel and has a Missouri plate.
I hope that's not a demo reel. Unless they're still working through their first semester at the Academy of Art.
Worst element: the tail lights are a flat image map. There is no depth to them, so they look artificial. The whole butt looks flat. None of the other shapes really look right either.
This video would have looked good as an FMV on a PlayStation. You know, before PlayStations had numbers.
Well it is a teeny tiny bit better than the Jalopnik vomit. I did kind of like the side markers in the back of the rear wheel well housing.
But this is No WOW car.......it's more like LAME...
I can hear the comments now from the general non Vette owning public already.......
"That's the new Corvette?...oh....I thought it was supposed to be like the one in that one movie....like they way they did with the Camaro....it doesn't really look like a Corvette"
Thanks Paul , I live for this stuff ....As for the video, I am sure it is a little bit accurate and that is good enough for now. This stuff is all quite similar to a very shapely woman cloaked in a rain coat. How exciting to think that any minute we will see that coat come off.
I concider this video a step forward though that rear end is the weakest rendition looking too flat missing the slight boat tail effect. I do think overall with its more smooth lines and curves this version is unmistakable as a possible Corvette. I'm encouraged that it will only get better defined from here, though not that exciting so far.
Well the video was done well and I know that this was an attempt to help; however, if the C7 looks close to this, then the Corvette community will be in serious trouble. I would never buy that no matter how fast or great it drives. Just look at the ugly GT-R (same result).
This video didn't bring the thought of a Corvette to mind. It actually reminded me of the Datson 240Z from the seventies with that flat butt end.
The lights were good but the front & back overall were awful!!!
I am confident that no GM leader would let an ugly car come out like this and call this the new modern Corvette. This picture is one of the worst renditions that I have seen. I had four buddies over at my house when I pulled the video up: Their comments were extremely negative and unflattering. This car is Butt-F_ _ _ _ _ _ ugly.
Not too many manly men purchase a car if it doesn't look good first.
So I am not going to worry about this dumb *** video rendition!!!!!
Looking forward to seeing the Real & Awesome Corvette C7.
Cheers,
Fuze
I don't think the C7 will look (exactly) like that but, and it's quite out of character for me to even say something like this, if it does they can count me out unless it also delivers C6 ZR1 performance at a Camaro SS price point LOL.
I just threw up in my mouth!!! That actually looks worse than the new Camaro!!! If the C7 were to look like that in production, sales would tank so fast they would probably bring out the C8 REALLY quick!!! HIDEOUS!!!
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
