That and I saw a girl with a C6 today under 25 years old.( Just after a friend was making a corvette joke. Then more happened, but for the "kids" sake. I will not be talking about what happened next.)
I guess I should have picked 40+, but it was too hard to pick it after what I saw today.

That's nice, but why would GM market a 50k+ sports car to an age group that can't afford their product? Beyond the occasional commercial(that would get pulled anyway due to Political Correctness...) anyway. The vast majority of 20-30 year olds, cannot afford a car at that price.
Does that mean there aren't 20-30 year olds that could? No, I'm sure there are thousands of young adults who could. Are they even remotely near the majority in their age group though? Not a chance in hell.
I know. I'm only 32 and still very visible with people that age. Most are still figuring out what to do with their lives, many have college loans to pay off, some are married, others are married and having kids. 50k+ sports cars are far from their futures...

I know most of them can't and really I would not try to market to them more than the 40+ guy's and I hope for there sake they can market it right and NOT do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g7cgUm7o9k

I had never seen that commercial before. Now I know why.
Picked 30-40, Not saying the majority of buyers will be that age but thats going to be the target market.
2+2 seating? Yeah I'll take one of those, I've got two little ones that would fit perfectly back there in boosters
I see more people my age going for the Camaro due to the utility of the back seat so,
I think it will be a hit with mid 30s guys.
Remember the 1970 240z ? All ages wanted that car. How about Miata ? All ages bought that car...The Mercedes Sl is another. The Cadillac Escalade is crosses over everywhere. Dont forget Minis.....Build something desirable and buyers will come
Just a wild guess, but I expect that the majority of C6 owners who purchased new are 45+ years old. One thing for sure is that GM knows and they will build and market the C7 to that group. Now that of course doesn't mean that the car won't be appealing to the 30 - 39 demographic.
I was only 24 when I bought my first Vette, but it was a used car.

I can't believe somebody thought that was a good idea.

I tend to agree here that they are going after a younger crowd than the C6ers. A good share of the c6 crowd is over 50 and although there may be some purchasing C7's, they need more younger people buying Corvettes if they are going to survive. The small back seat for children is definately a good option to bring the younger drivers into play.

I bet GM is willing to gamble that older hardcore corvette fans will buy the car no matter what and therefore focus the design/engineering to attract a younger crowd as well.
It would make sense to attract some of those 30-40 year old folks away from sport model BMWs and MB. There is a significant amount of people in this age group that can afford it, I see it everyday.
I think the 2+2 thing would be a wise decision (with a factory delete option), but I do not think that will happen. If they are serious about attracting a younger demographic, it needs to happen. I know many folks who would love to buy a vette but cannot becuase they cannot carry their spouse and kid occasionally as they see fit....yes yes, I know a vette is a sports car, but some folks actually want every car in the family to accomodate the family.
