Its a mute point for the base model but what about other higher end models?

SRT released prices on their viper starting at 97k with the gts model roughly 20k higher.

Gonna be hard to remain competitive from a pricing perspective when your competition has announced pricing of their new vehicle to be lower than GMs out going z06 (with z07 package) and zr1.

Unless something unique is on the new c7 say a DCT

People expect value pricing in Z06+Z07, but I think Z07 exists to maximize "hardcore" Z06 profit, much like Porsche builds very expensive track star versions of the 911.

I'm counting on buying a $60K car with a $10K down payment. The most I'm willing to spend per month on the car's payment is $1000.

You know I think that is on the money....But if GM is wise they will have lots of options ( like Porsche) and the price could get out of hand. It would be very neat if you could almost customize the C7. A program like that could create better resale values because the cars would be less "cookie cutter".

That's very true. The flip side to that is that they would be harder to put a value on later down the road.

I remember back in the days GM used to have that type of deal. You could mix and match LOTS of options down to the engine in any trim. But that sort of thing these days doesn't make sense from a business prospective, and certainly there are safety concerns now too as certain engines should be matched with specific brake packages and so on. Some common sense things.

But it would SERIOUSLY bother me if I couldn't get a heads up display without their super premium radio option (for example).

In the end, if their premium radio option for the C7 does A2DP Bluetooth audio streaming, I will spring for the more expensive audio system, even if it pushes me just slightly over $1000/mo. I love having all stock electronics and A2DP is very important. In my C5 I added a few items so I could have A2DP work with my stock radio. Everything still looks and acts stock. (That's actually quite important to me.)

I hope they don't disappoint. I'm pretty sure they won't.
