Default C7 Brakes

I got a look at the C7's brakes yesterday, and the calipers look different (longer?) and the rotors are now cross drilled and slotted.

With all the late night regular posters still fast asleep I guess I'll pose the first question on details. If you saw the rotors on both sides of the C7, do the slots slant in the same direction (to the car front or back) suggesting they are side specific?

I only saw one brake rotor, so I can't say.

So are you just seeing one car? The other pictures show several. We see 31 and 49. It would be interesting to look and see if they have the same brakes. I need to go back and see if they have the same wheels too. This would help us determine if there is more than one variant testing.

You'll probably see more photos soon.

Exhaust note sounds like a raspy growl, sort of hollow, though I don't think it is as deep as the C6's. One of the cars I heard almost sounded like it might have had a V6, but it's really hard to tell for sure from just hearing it, and that's just pure speculation on my part, but I thought one of them kind of sounded like the Camaro with the 6 in it does.

Drivers had laptops hooked to the car while driving taking measurements.

I also got a look as the seats. Rather funky looking, with large hoop like side supports that stick out just below the headrests.

Close, but the hoops appear to be a bit larger and go down a little further. They form a diamond shape on the inside of them, and the headrest also has a diamond shape. Think of three diamonds, one stacked on top of the other two, with the headrest the top most diamond, and the two diamonds below it hollow in the center.

Oh, and by the way, some of them had silver 5 spoke wheels on them, and others had the black wheel 10 spoke wheels. You're probably going to see even more, and better, shots soon.

I can't tell for sure, but from blowing up the photos, it looks like the front fascia has a much larger air intake cut out for cooling air. Makes me wonder if all their camouflage on the cars is going to skew their sensor data readings, the way they had it so covered up with mesh.

Yea, that's a little closer, though not exact, but that is the general idea. I suspect you be able to see the upper third of them in some of my photos pretty soon.

The Z51 rotors were cross drilled. Are any other current performance cars using cross-drilled & slotted rotors? It's been a while since I paid attention.

I'm only seeing slots...I would think Corvette wouldn't bother again with squeaky, holy, cracking, Z51 brake rotors...
