Default C7R -When?

When will we see the C7R? That could like C6R show what GM has in mind for the next Z06.

I've wondered the same thing. I bet Team Corvette has one more race season with the C6R.

But that just a guess.

I don't know, but it seems to me that we saw spy shots of the C6R before the C6 was out. Pretty sure of that anyway as well as I can remember.

Pratt & Miller helped with the development of the C7. I would be willing to bet the C7 will be racing in the first season of the ALMS-Grand Am merger.

Correct. At Road America, Doug Fehan of Corvette Racing said 2014 for the C7 racing intro.

If i had to guess, we won't see it officially unveiled until January 2014.

And since the ALMS and Grand-Am are merging and the first race as a merged unit will be Daytona 2014, it will probably make it's first public showing at Speedweek at Daytona early January 2014.

Probably reversed engineered ... starting from a racing wish list and simplifying for the C7R market.
(Wonder if that was how the C5R/C6R developed... starting from a racing concept and toning it down to a civilian market)

Could already be one of the roadside test mules out there....

Unless the rules change, it can't be raced in ALMS until the model it is built from is on the showroom floor being sold. I would guess that means the 2014 season.

Did the factory C5R race after the base C6 was introduced ?? I believe NO...... I believe the C6R won Lemans before the C6 Z06 was available to the public. And I've heard the direct injection will be available to race next year.......it is homologated as a 2014 effective Jan. 2013 ???

Actually; another team bought the 'retired' C5R Lemans car and did race alongside the C6R as recently as this year at Lemans.

C6R started racing at Sebring in March of 2005, well after the C6 was for sale. Not sure how specific the ALMS guys were about the Z06 sales dates back in the GT1 days.

The C6 was shown January 2004 at the NAIAS.

The C5-R raced until October 16th 2004.

The C6 Z06 and C6.R were introduced January 2005 at the NAIAS

Lots of C5-R facts HERE.

I put the website together back in the day and spent time at Pratt & Miller and talked to several P&M people over the years to gather the info. It is all as accurate as I could make it. I have not kept up-to-date in the last couple of years.
