Default C7 Headlights

Looks like the C7 is going to continue to use HID for its headlights rather than LED that some new cars are offering.

Will the C7 finally gets Bi-Xenon headlights?

Ha, I prefer the old fashion round headlights that are something like $10. I could careless about stuff like this. All that matters to be is hp,handling & braking.

Could care less about hp and braking over being able to see good
at night. Older vettes had poor lighting with the pop ups

I hope the headlights will have the appearance of more purposely designed. The headlights on the C6 appear to be sort of a second thought where the pop up housing was supposed to reside and then was changed to a fixed design.

I have never driven any car that I felt vision was poor due to lighting. I have been bothered by oncoming lights being too bright effecting my vision as well as those behind me.

Are the new LED headlights superior to HID?

As far as I've seen on any car, LEDs are only used as accent lighting around headlight housings or for creating halos around the main bulbs for daytime-running.

No Audi uses LED for low and high beam, they offer it as an option.

BMW 7 series 6 series, Lexus LS and even the New Accord has LED headlights in their top of the line model.

100% agree. People tend to get spoiled with tech advancments. Some of these lights I see coming down the road should be illegal...like driving by someone with their brights on.

No one needs lights that bright but people will always want them since they are the latest and greatest. These people are typically the same people that go out and buy the latest high def TV every other year because their old "high" definition pictures is not acceptable anymore.

Paul, you would HATE my truck!!! I have to drive a lot at night on curvy country roads with a LOT of deer around! So I put true HID lights in all 6 of my lights and have hi-beam bulbs in all of them!! I also have my fogs jumped over so I can run all 6 of my bulbs at the same time!! Looks like the sun coming down the road at you!!

Folks that don't have a problem with lights at night really don't understand how blinding it can be to someone that can't tolerate bright lights in their eyes. I wonder how many head-on accidents have taken place because a person was blinded? I usually try to travel in the daylight.

Thinking like this will get us nowhere. What if car manufactures of the past decided that gas lamps were good enough. I hate to have to get out and light my headlights. What about an electric starter, the battery could die, give me a crank any day, HA!

I thought the HIDs were just high tech gas lamps

I would like to be strong enough to hand crank start a modern engine.

Yes, bi-Xenon for low/ high beam. Amber LED's along outside edge for turn. White LED's in a hockey stick shape under main beam for DRL and park functions.
