Where is WildVettes? did you watch this,, the head engineer said it will have Variable Valve Timing for the Corvette, and AFM for some applications. Maybe the Corvette version will not have AFM.

I hope your wrong for ALL of our sakes that the MT won't have AFM.
Here's my reasoning:
If the automatic gets it because the torque converter is what keeps the "jolt" down when switching between active cylinders, that means that there won't be a DCT at all combined with AFM because it means they haven't solved that issue. AFM is what keeps the CAFE standards stuff happy, so if there's no DCT + AFM, there's not going to be a DCT at all unless it goes into a $100K Corvette.
The other reason is that I plan to buy the manual and I actually WANT AFM. I'm not always driving like a speed daemon. Sometimes I drive my Corvette like a regular car, sharing the road with other drivers. LOL No need to waste gas. In my Z06 I often wish I had just 1 more over drive. 75MPH at 1900 RPM kind of sucks when you know you have the power and torque to drop to 1400 or 1500 at 75MPH.
