Default Just got this in an email. Car & Driver

Just got this link in an email. If this is the actual C7, I personally don't like it. The rear is way to Camaro and the rear quarters/hatch is way to much Nisson 280Z ish for me. I like the front, say from seat backs, forward but that's it. Will have to see in person to really decide but not excited now.

It has been out for a while now, but don't really put all the blame on the OP, as he said, it can in an e-mail from Corvette Forum. I received it also so I am sure you all did also. Mine was actually in my SPAM folder.

"I saw the C7 in Car and Driver" sticky? Surround with !!! and ***** and seizure inducing giant font flashing red text!
Everytime I open one of these I know that this time it has to be a joke.

Yes we can really put all the blame on the OP. It's rude to wander into a forum and post something without taking even a moment to read the titles of the existing threads in the top half of the first page.

I'm trying to imagine which one of those would be more expensive to service.

I don't understand you people...you must have the crudest eye. Front engine, rear drive platforms have been built for decades. Of course, they are going to "look" similar from some perspective. Of course some window over the past twenty five years is going to resemble some other window for God's sake.

Saying you won't drive it because it looks like a Camaro doesn't even make sense. The car is, granted unfortunately, taking the shape of the companies lineup. The Malibu, Camaro, etc, are all getting to this angular taillight. This is not something new though...the old Viper had the front end of the Neon, truck, Avenger...you name it. Every BMW has kidney grills. Pontiacs from the Grand Am to the GTO shared front end designs. This is nothing new and every car company out there does it.

Do you think the guy going to buy the Aston Martin Vanquish gets mad because his grill and taillights look like that of a DB9...no. His Vanquish is far beyond that car in performance, style, legacy and every other damn thing.

You guys need to wake up.

The level of vitriol in here is just ridiculous. Is it so difficult to figure out what's going on?

These people spend their time posting in C5 and C6 and OT forums. That's their hangout. They get the C&D magazine or the CF Forum email or the C&D email or they see the hardcopy on a newsstand or doctor's office.

It's interesting, it's new. And they don't see any other threads in their forum. So they post something. Then that forum moderator sees that it is off topic for their area of focus and moves it in here to the C7 forum. Those other moderators don't care that it's a dupe. They just turf it to get it out of their space.

Now the other forum is clean of anything about the C7 and it can all start again. Sure, it would be nice if the posters knew about the C7 forum and put their excitement here (preferably searching first), but I can understand wanting to share the word with their buddies in their little online world. As far as they know, nobody has brought it up yet.

So let's ask the other forum moderators to stop dumping the threads in here. Just close it in your own forum with a "Please refer to the C7 Forum" message.

And honestly guys, having to skip over one more thread is not going to kill you. The amount of time it takes to find cute little emoticons for "dupe" and "frustrated" or to write another scathing message about how the rest of the world is full of idiots except for you is far more than the time wasted by having to jump to the next thread topic.

Hugz?
