I run my LS3 on E85, and have found stellar gains in performance. I have many posts on this forum about my results. Bone stock I put down 420whp 412twq by just putting E85 in the gas tank, and tunning the ECU. No fuel upgrades required

I have been running this settup (now on headers, and ported intake manifold) for over a year now, and have logged 15k miles. Car is a BEAST and i have had ZERO issues with the build. Drive it Daily

Here is my graph after the dyno. Again, STOCK run, then a fill up on E85 and a dyno 1 hour later.

The next thing we'll hear is the C7 will kick butt on the C6 using only 4 of its 8 cylinders!

Where do you buy E85? and you just fill up with that and nothing else in the tank? Do they have e85 in NJ at gas stations?

The above is true

The word is there will be an easy 40-50 more HP with E85

Figure that on top of what should be at least a 460 rated hp motor, thus with all other things equal the C7 on E85 bottom line will make the same power as a stock C6ZO6.

However the ZO6 on gas will get much better millage than the C7 on E85, albeit E85 should cost less per gallon

It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out.

If this all pans out you know the base C7 is going to be lighter...better.....faster....quicker.. ...etc than a C6Z06.....

I am going to have to get used to seeing grown men cry.....

Lets get some numbers straight. The ethanol content of E85 fuel can vary from 60% to 92% ethanol. That said the energy content of gasoline versus 85% ethanol & gasoline is:

E85 81,800 BTU/gallon

Gasoline 114,100 - 116,000 BTU/gallon.

On a flex-fuel engine one goes further on the higher energy content of gasoline. However, one cannot change the compression ratio on a flex-fuel engine to utilize the higher thermal efficiency of higher compression ratios.

While the stoichiometric (chemically ideal) air/fuel mixture ratio for gasoline is approximately 14.7:1, with ethanol it is around 9.79:1.

Major retuning can give maybe 5% more power to E85. That does not apply to a flex-fuel auto that is not modified aftermarket.

As well as it should be an improved car. What's funny is why it's so important to you. Every one of your posts reflects the same thing. You must have been whipped one too many times by a C6.

E85 will only benefit the C7 unless it's tuned... and with that said, the tune will be complicated due to all the new tech being introduced. If it's a flex fuel car, then it will adjust all variables to make stock HP even if you put E85 in the tank. If it makes a jump in power based on the fuel in the tank, I will be very surprised.

That's crazy! Curious how the E85 affected your MPGs?

Just as a data point my mileage is 25% less when I run E85 in my 12 Avalanche.

Interesting. I thought that pump E85 varied between 70-85% ethanol.

LOL......Do you say the same thing to the round tails/ "only 450 HP" crew???

Listen...I have a deposit on a C7 so thats why it interests me.

If you dont have a deposit on a C7 then I would ask..... "Why do you care?

Now I am not trying to bash down a C6

..... I am more stating I am CONFIDENT the C7 Vette is going to be KILLER

........ as opposed to some C6er's who are yawning saying it's no big deal.

Pretty sure that is exactly what you do in every post

I get it, you have high hopes for the car you put a deposit on. I have a feeling the C7 will be great, but your 'C7 is the best, everything else sux' got really old really quickly.

I think most folks here are excited for it, myself included, but it doesn't mean they're neck deep in the kool-aid like you are.

You show where I said "everything else sucks".........go ahead....I'll wait

...The C7 is going be be the best performing Vette..any sane person knows that

....Just because your cars value might be about to take a serious hit, you shouldnt accuse me of..... "drinking grape Kool-aid"

I am sorry my opinions based on the few things we know gets you a bit butt hurt

....I mean no offense

.....Look me up on 01/13/13

.......I will be more than glad to say I drowned in Kool-aid if I am wrong

.....I hope you will be happy to eat crow if I am right

..Deal??.....
