The pictures show the fixed part that stays on the car, _under_ the hatch.
Do you think there is another part missing from this picture that stays attached to the fixed part that does not move with the hatch?
I believe that is what 05dsom is suggesting

Nice info and pics, but... does anyone else find it very strange that these past two days someone new has come to the forum with information? This guy just joined today, and the GM marketing guy from yesterday just joined then too.

Is the General on here leaking stuff?
Why not? Maybe more like other folks who know stuff (and there are hundreds) are using CF to get it out vs sending it directly to crappy places like Motor Trend and Car and Driver who don't really care much for American cars.

HAHAHA I think that's hilarious. I think if GM were to leak stuff it would be less messy than the stuff I just put up. btw I drive a BMW. No GM guy here.
Oh I just remembered I have a picture of the taillight housing too. It's not very big or detailed because its sitting on the machine that assembles the rear end of the car, but hopefully someone can make something of it. ill post it soon.

Now you are just toying with us!
Maybe I missed it but if you aren't a GM guy, what is your role in being where they were doing this work?

Ok here they are. Now don't hold me too it as I'm not 100% sure these are off the C7, but the assembly rig it is on is definitely for the C7. Though I don't know how much anyone here cares to see an unfinished assembly rig.
