I'm 27 years old and I bought my 2009 C6 brand new when I was 23. It was my dream to own a Corvette and I could not be happier with my car. Personally, I will be very dissapointed if the C7 actually looks like some of the rendering images. I really dis like the Camaro looking lights. To be honest I still don't think GM will be able to cater towards the younger 20s crowd with the C7 because the fact is guys in their 20s still can't afford them, especially in this economy.
With that being said, I honestly don't believe the C7 will entirely look like the rendering images, particularily the back. I think this is just a way for them the WOW us when it is revealed this Sunday. I think GM did a great job with the C6 and made it even better looking with the Z06 and other wide body models. They know what a Corvette customer likes and wants. I don't see them going backwards in this relm.
Look for the C7 to still maintain the Corvette look. Low to the ground, wide powerful stance, massive tires and some serious power. Add in a nicer interior this time and that's going to be the C7. They will get it right for us.

It is unfortunate that I fall into the "middle aged crazy" stereotype because it clouds the fact that I have loved them since I saw the first one as a kid. I am sure people chuckle at my half bald head and gray beard while I zip past them with the top down. They have no idea I have been zipping past people for 30 years behind the wheel of a Corvette.
The same with me. I got my first Corvette at 18yrs old. I have been driving them ever since. The Corvette was the car every motorhead wanted back in the day. The cost was just out of reach to many and then the insurance. At 18 I was paying $500.00 a year to insure my Corvette. That was a lot of money in 1976.
Now at age 55 I am on my 24th Corvette and can't wait to own my 25th!!!!

It doesn't do anything for GM's bottom line today to produce a car that makes the 20 year olds have wet dreams, but they end up buying a KIA because that's all they can afford.
It also doesn't do anything for GM's bottom line to produce a car in 2014 that won't be affordable to that same 20 year old for another 10 years. GM corporate doesn't make any money when a 10 year Corvette is sold.
Young kids, 18 to 25 only care about the high preforming Vette, Z06 in particular, with NO chrome. Blacked out kick *** Vettes will get their attention. Chromed out verts do not.
Sorry to offend anyone but that is the truth.
So if you are GM what to do to get a younger customer?
Something I have noticed The C6 doesn't get a lot of attention (If anyone looks I am guessing they r thinking midlife crisis) However the 1980 is a completely different story. Corvettes were never very popular and u never c a C3 on the road here in the northwest. Up until about 10 years ago the 1980 was "Just an old car" but now if I take it downtown on a warm Friday night the car gets a lot of attention especially from young girls ( I can guarantee it's not me they are looking at If I go through a drive through and there is a young girl at the window better than 50% of the time they will comment positively on the car Usually "I love your car". I even get comments from girls at red lights Some nights it feels a bit weird getting attention from young pretty girls. The boys are "cooler" Most commonly they will comment on the L-82 engine badge and ask if is a 427. And he is right in that the 1980 had no chrome on it at all although it is completely stock and therefore not much of a performer.
