So if the new C7 is the best thing since sliced bread. What are the thoughts on how long it takes before C6 sales start taking a kicking or will they? If they do start decreasing like I think they would, would you expect even bigger discounts than the approximately 13k with the loyalty rebate? Maybe get rid of the loyalty rebate and just include that 3k to everyone?
When I did a short stint at a Chevy dealership in '04, from March through July, they were all but giving away the C5's. Our dealer's allocation of C6's was heavily dependent on the number of C5's sold. So yeah, they'll be trying to clear out the inventory beginning early spring.
Buy a 15+ gallon fill up and they throw in a C6? But seriously, my C6 will be worth EXACTLY the same, to ME, no matter what the C7 is like. EVERY CORVETTE is special. Even the much maligned C4s, in top shape, get peoples' attention and appreciation!

A Corvette is a Corvette. Period. A member of the brother/sisterhood and a thing of beauty no matter what!
Cars depreciate. Yes the c6 will see an increase rate of that depreciation. No, they won't be giving them away.
Since the c7 is all new and should be an even better car, loaded with new technology and a lightweight aluminum frame + carbon fiber, a new transmission and engine, interior etc etc, its logical to deduce the rate of depreciation will be higher than your average rate of 10-15% per year.
Couple that with steep discounts we will see in the coming months and you can draw your own conclusions.
None of this matters to someone who plans on keeping their car, only to people who are wanting to buy or sell.
My dealership feels the C6 price will drop even more dramatically after the release. He did feel the 427 vert will hold where it's at. For whatever that is worth....

As if C6 prices haven't already taken a kicking in recent years? Just last month a dealer on this forum was advertising brand new 2012 coupes for $35K. How much lower do you want them to go? LOL

The 427 Vert is a one year limited production car, I believe it's limited anyway at least lower volume production. At any rate, it is pretty much an instant collector car. ZR1 and Z06 will remain stable as well, perhaps even the GS. But the base cars will see significant price drops. IMHO
