The tail lights. Why? Why? Were they trying to save money by using the same tool and dye mold from the Camaro rear end? Looks like it. People won't be able to tell the Corvette from the Camaro if they are looking at both cars from the rear. This is a huge strategic business mistake. They homogenized the car. Instead of having it it stand on its own..separate from the rest, they made it look like the Camaro. It now looks like the "new generation Camaro". A morphing of the two cars. Utter disappointment here.
I watched it...not impressed...I have to see it in person; the interior looks like they ressurrected the C4 dash (?). The rear looks like a Pontiac and that little Stingray emblem they are making a big deal about looks stupid as hell to me.
All-new, dual-element taillamps represent the greatest departure from tradition and are among
the car’s most dramatic elements. The three-dimensional, sculpted lenses house innovative
indirect LED lighting. The state-of-the-art lighting uses hidden LED lamps that cast their light up
from the bottom of the housing into a reverse reflector, creating an even glow.
In a brief glimpse toward the end of the video, it looks like round lights under a lens.
I'm thinking (hoping) it's an innovative technology (LED lensing thing) with a nod to tradition (round lamps under the lenses). I just need to get a good look at 'em.
Regardless, it does not look as much like a Camaro rear as I feared it would.
How does anyone think this car looks like a Camaro? It 0 lines like the camaro. The tail lights are a completely different shape. Am I missing something? MY guess is everyone has their current vet paid off and by slamming something positive that GM has done will make themselves feel better about not having to buy a new car.
The overall shape of the taillights were a 'signature' for the Corvette... not unlike the rear vertical taillights for the Cadillac line.
Don't fully understand why there was a need or reason to drastically redesign the backend.
Just wait until they change that (Cadillac) orientation... then you'll hear them howl and scream.

On the street , we see cars as a 360 degree whole, not just a static view of one of its four vertical sides, so this " confused with a Camaro " is laughable. If you hangout with peoplelike that, they probably can't tell the new Aston Martin Vanquish from a Jag XKR-S from the new Ford Fusion ...ooops.

EXACTLY!!! That logo looks like it belongs on the hood of a 69-79 trans am, not the front of a vette. It is the first time that the logo remained so much similar to the previous generation, yet the corvette slogan is now "nothing will be the same" And, I have first hand experience with c4 lcd dashes, and they're not fun. Now, lcd dash replacements are 1/8th cost of the average c4. When c7's are worth $12500, imagine how expensive a full replacement for all the computers will be!!
All the hype and this is what we get? I'm angry over the rear end. It ruins the whole car. Somebody, a whole lot of somebodies, have gone and bumped their friggen heads!! They should have listened to all the forum polls against a Camaro rear end on a Corvette!!!
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
