Default Two Simple Questions

I am a simple man and have simple questions about the new C7:

1) Is that gap in the front spoiler for a license plate or are we back to defacing the front of the C7 by screwing the plate in the same place as the C6?

2) What are those black patches above the gas cap/rear wheels? Could they be brake vents?

Clay mockup photos show the license plate bracket that fits in the recessed grill opening. Doesn't look too bad. Of course, cancer looks better then the C6 license plate bracket.

Black skin desease on top of the rear fender is a air duct, apparently for the transmission and rear end cooler.

it seems the 'grill' is sized for a license plate and the mock-up has a plate bracket that fits onto the horizantal grill bar making it look exactly like the C3. still olde school.

they have moved the rear brake duct vents from the side to the top of the car. something else for leaves to fall down into.

I read on the website that the black vents above the rear quarter panels are for cooling of the trans. It makes sense.
Not sure about the license plate.

Thanks for the input.

Those rear grill vents are going to be awful hard to clean up for the "Park & Show" folks at the Corvette competitions. Not to mention rain falling into them.
