As to all the ugly black...maybe for the mid-model refresh in a couple of years they'll offer a special "Fully-Painted Edition". Just please include those raccoon headlights. I hate contrasting-color headlights...especially in black. I sure hope they're optional.
When the red Z51 rolled out at the NAICS, I couldn't believe it. All the black contrasting crap(hood vents, front fender vents, rear fender vents, taillight vents and huge rear diffuser, and the black wheels and headlights) just jumped out at me and screamed "Hot Wheels toy car". To me, that car looked like crap. When I later saw the photos of the dark grey car(where the crappy plastic parts blended in and not so obnoxious and had the Sterling Sllver wheels ), I thought the car looked pretty good(but still a thumbs down on the rear end styling).

Just go to the C6 section if you want to see the 'heritage' of ricey Corvette owners. Lots of it done when they didn't like what the C5/C6 brought stock from the factory. Nothing new here, including tail light treatments.

You must have read my mind. I've often used the terms "Hot Wheels" and "Anime" to describe the pre-reveal renderings. And it turns out that all those renderings actually looked better than the real car!
