Default GM has poor Aim.

Is this what GM was aiming for when designing the C7...

They are looking at long term sales and not just old farts. For the Corvette to survive it needs to appeal to a younger genreration. Which is very hard cause the younger generation could care less about cars.

What is sorry and sad is that the die hard will take anything no matter how crappy it is as long as it has a Corvette badge, and GM knows it, they aimed high and failed miserably.
They copied all kinds of cues from this super car, and it looks good I'll admit, but they failed in originality and quality, just look at the HD pictures on another thread here, CRAP!!!

Not at all. The ferrari is beautiful, classy and just stunning and has amazing performance. They ALWAYS deliver for their customers. The rear end of this Ferrari looks amazing and doesn't try to do TOO much unlike the horrible cheap looking Transformer/Camaro/ Non Corvette rear end on the new C7.

I am really trying to like the C7, and there are some things I am really impressed with, e.g. the new interior, but I am very dissapointed in the rear end. I understand that they want to appeal to a broader customer, which I think is great, but they forgot about the customers that keep Corvette going throughout all it's years. Chevy got the C6 design right and made it better with high end Z06 and ZR1 models. It had both the looks and the performance. The C7 will have the performance, but I'm having a hard time with the new look, especially with the rear. I just don't think it fits the rest of the car.

You gotta keep in mind that todays car, especially high performance cars, are designed with computers. They look for the most efficient way to improve performance. Thats why a lot of todays cars look a like or have very similar design cues. For a car like the Vette and Ferrari, there are gonna be a lot of vents, scoops, big grill opening and such. That is the only reason people think they look a like. As much as I like the looks of some Ferrari's, I really like the looks of the C7 more. And I'm not just saying that because I love Corvettes, because I love all makes and brands.

Key differences.

This is the C7 forum, the place where members are supposed to discuss the C7. There is no better place for a thread like this.

However, you can use your discretion to avoid the thread if you don't want to see it. I don't read the stuff I don't care about and if you don't, then don't click into the thread and certainly don't reply to bump it up.

I understand the OP's point, I don't necessarily agree, but I understand where hes coming from.

I also understand where you're coming from, but to tell other members on the forum not to discuss the thread is beyond your control and influence.

Can we just stay on topic for once? The OP started a good thread(though I dont like the wording about poor aim).

No. He has NO right to tell other members what they can and cannot discuss or reply to.

The whole point of a 'Discussion Forum' in 'C7 General Discussion' is to discuss topics related to the C7. If you don't care for this discussion then don't reply and read something else.

Actually, I take that back, compared to the lunacy of most of these threads, this one is quite good.

lol, take it easy Rosa Parks. I have all the rights to say or do what I want, just as you have the right to troll around on here. Maybe we should move this rights discussion to PR&C where it belongs.

Good point, what does a 599 GTO have to do with the entry level C7 again?

The OP is entitled to his own thoughts. The current fad in car styling is sharp creases, razor like fender points, and angular features. Look at cadillac, look at the other cars out there. The C6 was rounded, and if GM stuck with that they would be accused of being lost in the past.

They are also trying to appeal to the generation that is in its late 20's who have been buying Subarus, Mitusbishis, and Toybotas. They want them to buy a Corvette instead of a Nissan GTR when they can afford either.

GM could not please everyone but they came out with a car that has the stats and background to beat a Porsche costing twice what the C7 does.

Every Action has an Equal and Opposite Reaction.

If he hadn't rudely told people to stop discussing a topic they wanted to discuss, I wouldn't have rudely told him to go pound sand.

I believe the OP is referring to two sports cars that share a mild resemblance to one another.

However, that is not for me to decide, that is for the fellow forum members and OP to figure out and discuss.
