Default Official Performance Data

Despite all the innuendoes, accusations and claims there has not yet been a release of any specific data aka test results to support any performance conclusions.

GM did make the statement that they had exceeded the GS's performance and reduced a significant amount of weight in some components. This is in line with their statement that the LT1 makes at least 450/450 but do not explain the reason for a PSI/vacuum gage and pictures of a motor that does not appear to be an LT1?

Were all of the known weight reductions offset by unknown "added weight" above the LT1's weight increase?

Did adding DI and variable timing in addition to improved cooling and combustion only add 14 HP to the same displacement LS3?

Is GM holding back facts that will hurt the salability of lot of unsold C6 models still in inventory?

Ding ding ding.

The last two times GM came out with estimates, the final numbers ended up being 20 and 30 horsepower higher(the ZR1 and ZL1 respectively).

430 to 450 = 20hp, and yes i know about npp, it's optional on both.

With everyone else (SRT, Shelby) already announcing MUCH higher HP to weight numbers than the estimated C7 numbers are going to be (450 @ 3350) prudent minds must consider that GM is holding back for a reason other than the competition.

What other reason could it be than to not sabotage the need to get their investment out of existing inventory, let alone the longer they sit the more it costs them to keep them.

Heard from a fairly reliable source that both Z06 and ZR1 models will be forced induction. Kinda blows, cause a supercharger or turbo will add much more cost to the car than going NA. Maybe that explains the different engine you saw and the gauges.

There is also talk about a close to 600hp, HO edition of the LS7, but without the valve-train issues. I would expect that motor to be slated for the ZO6 in order to maintain the "ZO6" image of being significantly quicker than the base model

However, if there are across the board weight gains for the C7 on top of the claimed weight reductions they are going to hit the ZO6 just as hard.
