Default Will the C7 be mod friendly

With all the discussion on the appearance of the C7, there is one big question that hasn't been looked at or discussed much. That is how mod friendly will the C7 be? Supposedly rumor has it that the car can't be tuned due to the complexity of the ECU. It already has a nice free flowing exhaust so I can't see much in performance gains in changing that. The Z51 package comes with some nice hardware so I'm not sure what gains could be made in the handling/braking department that would be cost effective. Will we be limited to just a CAI and cosmetic mods with this car?

I know it's really too early as no one has really gotten their hands on a car to go over it but it is some thing to think about.

The engine / exhaust /intake is already so optimized that bolt-ons probably won't do much. There is no question in my mind that H&C will be the only way to make real power here. The tuners always find a way to crack the ECU. I think the issue here will be that the new VVT system creates challenges for traditional Heads&Cam type packages and tuning those for the LT1. First, manufacturers will have to develop cams from scratch for this car, so that will take time. The pressurized engines in the performance models will be a much easier base to work with for big power gains.

VVT, AFM, and SIDI are all things that will make this more difficult and expensive to mod, at least initially. I don't know if there are differences in tuning DI motors, but I predict some blown up cars in the first year or so after the e92 PCM is unlocked.

Same argument was said about the GTR when it came out. Obviously it didn't last long.
