Does anyone else here think it should have had body color A pillars? The way it is at the roof it's black on CF on body color, and looks weird. Either that it they shouldn't have painted the edges of the roof. Anyway, just my .02
One of the videos the designer said he wanted the look of glass from one B pillar to the other B pillar. I agree with you but really it is a matter of taste. But what was interesting he actually pointed that feature out as one he was proud of. Of you go to you tube the videos that have long discussions are one from GM and one from Car and Driver...
Seeing both painted and not, I can see clear pro/cons of each. On the unpainted one, this really helps draw the proportion back if looking from the side, and it looks cool. With them painted body color, it looks more integrated, but some of that cool proportion effect is lost. Anyway, I like how they are glossy, not cheap plasticky looking like my dad's C6.
Liking the painted sides or A-pillars better than this pic, so I think they at least went the right direction. Not sure if I I like the painted A-pillars versus non-painted better yet or not. It was one of the first "that's weird" things I noticed as well.
Can someone make the halo match the carbon roof or just make both the roof and halo black so there is no visual color break from the rear glass to the roof? Using this pic:
They should leave everything alone and just color match the halo to whatever color the roof is.

That would be my FIRST mod...on a white or blade silver car. Looks much cleaner (less busy back there)...BTW, I would bet money we will see this on the Z models...
Thanks for taking the time to do that for me.

How about a body colored roof with body color A pillar.
Thanks for the photoshop pics.
Thats really helpful. I go back and forth between pillar colors.
The 4th gen Camaro had black b pillars for a long time and then they started painting them body color. I didn't like the look because I liked the entire top half to look black like a Jetsons car.
I just went back looking at the photo's I've digitized and sure enough my 99 AW coupe has this design trait.
Guess I never really paid any attention to this until this post. I so like the body color better and wonder if this can be painted after delivery and hold up.
I think the A pillars are black because when you take the top out (or lower the convertible), it would look very odd to have the body color A pillars sticking up and then ending. If the windshield header was bigger and body color (like a M-B SL), then the body color A pillars would be fine.
