1960's sports car wars...back again!
It seems like the '60s are back again in respect to sports car. We have an awesome new Corvette Stingray, and a sexy new Jaguar sports car (The F-Type) both set to come out within the next year, and do battle with one another. I own a 1969 Jaguar E-Type (Most Americans remember it as the XKE) and have been following both Jag news and Corvette (Also have an '02 C5 Coupe) news lately, and seriously it got me thinking that a new golden age of sports cars is upon us. I feel that my generation (I'm 21) will look back on this era as the beginning of the new dawn of semi-affordable super cars, just like the 1960's are remembered.
In addition to these two standouts, we have the new Porsche Boxster/Cayman, new Viper (Spiritual successor to the Shelby Cobra) the new Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Audi R8, and many more that I'm sure I'm missing. It could just be me, but it seems like a great time to be a sports car enthusiast. What do you all think?

very similiar, but better. The economic woes for many will add to the drama in years ahead. <any will look back and remember the cars that they just couldnt afford due to the current finanical state. Think about it, the average middle class guy isnt going out ot even look at the likes of the ZR1, Z06, viper, jag etc. but the cars are selling in limited numbers. just look at the corvette overall sales numbers for 2012 /2013 verses years past.

Some '60s cars can still be had at good prices. Also, vintage cars are also a much different driving experience. While the XKE is nowhere as quick as the C5, it's just as fun to drive, but in a different way. It's not a car I drive every day, but it's special when I do take it out.
