Default C7 Orchestra

Been thinking about how all the rhetoric came to pass and how all the leaks were conveniently timed and how this whole thing felt, well, orchestrated. On the surface of that you say to yourself, of course it was orchestrated, how else would you logically promote a new flagship product.

Also though, I got the feeling it was more than that and even now there appears to be damage control going on here on CF. I wonder about the extent of such influence and how we may have been duped into believing that certain info posted here on CF was scooped from unknown sources as claimed and whether those leaking that info were really members of the orchestra.

I went so far as to search the posting patterns and history of more than one of those that appear to fit this description - take a look for yourself. There are even brand new members who come on here and make one post refuting all the negativity.

The other side of all this is that it's typical of the industry and the every day tactics. Just makes one wonder a bit more.

Thoughts?

I have had those little ****ling thoughts in the back of my head also. Glad to see someone else wondering about all this also.

The potential C7 orchestration of the last 14 months is certainly a possibility. I personally don't give GM marketing that much credit but it is possible.

I didn't realize GM had marketing people for the Vette. It's been since the C4 days that I've seen a TV ad for one. When did they hire them?

Now that you bring that up, I do remember seeing that ad. But, as a rule, they don't go overboard with TV ads. Then they wonder why the sales are where they are.

thought I posted this a minute ago???

If you think about it, they are right here in our midst and always with the right answers and which are seemingly from a valid source. Some have been on CF less than a year and yet have many thousands of posts primarily right here the the C7 forum. By contrast, the average OP has a quarter of that or less.

They've done at least 3 C6 Corvette tv ads in the last 3-5 years. They are mostly played during ALMS races.

They have a very robust customer outreach program associated with the ALMS races. Of course they have marketing people. Not a lot of primetime stuff or print ads.

Chevrolet marketing

Did not even know it existed. And certainly not with the Vette.

Maybe they will actively promote the C7. I hope so. The Corvette seems to be one of the most misunderstood cars out there.

They already have actively promoted the C7. How do you think the reveal happens? The Detroit Auto Show booth happens? The Press Kit. The CBS Sunday Morning spot? The many videos from the blogs & magazines? Sometimes 'active' support is a bit behind the scenes...don't forget all the leaks that have been done to Jalopnik, Keeks, and BlueOx!

Although not specifically a Corvette ad, this Comercial for the 2005 Cobalt with a C6 featured in it is one of my favorites.

GM has been on this board for years. They let us know what they wanted us to know. Keeks and others were plants from GM. It was all planed to perfection. You and others weren't and are not fooling anyone.

Hey, it's Mr. Know-It-All!

I've never said I am a plant from GM and have said several times that I am NOT. I think it is obvious GM has a presence here.
