Default 13 gt500 or c7?

I really didn't expect the new vette to be something this special but I really like it.

So I'm wondering what would you guys do in this situation? I currently have a 2013 gt500 and I was thinking about selling or trading in for a fully optioned out z51 car. I really want around 600hp so I was probably going to send the car out to katech or get one of their packages that adds 70hp or maybe just supercharge the car to make it have zo6 performance.

Would you do this trade or hold out for a true c7z? Though the only problem with that is instead of paying 70k which after my trade or sell would amount to maybe a 15-20k difference after 1-2 years I'd have to pay 100k for a c7z.

Need opinions.

thanks

well the gt has tons of horsepower as we all know. Do you use it? Are you stuck in traffic all the time and dont get to use it that much? The price spread could be a lot depending on what you choose. Might not be worth it to wait.

Sounds like you just got money to throw away. I would not trade in a new car & then SC a new car under warranty = depreciation, never get your money back. I guess it does not matter to you if you lose 30K or more?

I have yet to go to the track with it. It is my DD. I am not in traffic really that much. Plus I do my spirited driving on weekends there are some pretty curvy roads around me where I can stretch its legs. It is so fast and I love it but this new corvette seems to have everything now a true sports car should not to mention I love the look of it. Looks like a berlineta. The vette would be a weekend car since by then I will have moved and I will be walking distance to my work.

It's not really that I have money to blow. I can sell the gt500 for the same price I paid. I got pretty much an unheard of deal on it with all options except the shaker pro (since its a waste of money).

Plus I was planning if I got a vette would be to increase power than send it to John at caravaggio to work his magic on it and really at that point I'd just keep it.

Supercharge would be a last resort I see katech has some cheap 5k upgrades that add around 70-100 N/A hp to the GS vettes. I'm sure a titanium akrapovic exhaust would add another 20 or so hp and cut substantial weight to give better P/W ratio. I don't really need 600 hp since the car is lighter than my shelby. I just love the straight line acceleration so I don't want to give that up. Basically somewhere between a zo6 and zr1 would be where I want to be if possible.

Wife and I have had good fortune to have previously owed a 2011 GT500, 07 and 09 Z06, and currently own a 60th ZR1, 2012 GS Vert, and a 2009 Viper Coupe. My drive is mostly twisty roads with posted speeds 45-55. The GT500 never felt as planted as any of the Corvettes or the Viper. It is straight line fast yes, but the weight of the car combined with the rear end never gave me tons of confidence in corner exits. This will seem odd but the biggest reason for trading the Stang and getting the ZR-1 was the exterior body material. I hate dents and most people these days have no respect for others property. Park a steel bodied GT500 in a store parking lot and watch out, ding city. I never worry about taking our Vettes or the Viper anywhere and parking. Fast, nimble, dent proof, get the C7.

Jeeze and I feel bad about trading in after a year you got a lot of cars lol.

I always park in the back of parking lots. So if you are for the c7 would you be for current model and upgrade or hold out a year for a possible c7z version?

I really don't care about hp all I care about is that it feels as fast as a zo6.

My wife already plans to trade her 2012 GS for a White stingray with Z51. I plan to wait a year and see if the LT4 materializes. I fell in love with the photoshop Black Stingray with HRE's. I want it with the LT4. I hope to add it without wife forcing a trade away.

I just ordered a set of p40 gloss black HREs for the shelby but it seems with the offset they will transfer over to the vette easily.

My car now is black and I hate black no for a DD lol I'm too OCD to own black.

If they offer carbon flash (so dumb they only did that for 2012) I would get that if not it will be red exterior and red interior for me.

Buy a Callaway Corvette, you can bet it will have plenty of hp and they are sure to be out shortly after Corvettes are on the market. I have heard that they are already working on the upgrades for the C7 , this could be bs though.

Wats a callaway corvette?

EDIT: Did some googling it is pretty pricy at 20k for the current upgrade. I saw on another thread that this seems to be thru GM? Kind of like how roush is a sub group of ford, is that what callaway is to GM?

But yea this wouldn't be a bad option besides the price because at that point I might as well wait for a c7z version since it will be the same price.
