Its been discussed in several threads. It's a boost guage which is speculated to be for a future C7 version with forced induction. I'd imaging that you won't see that on the base model but is part of the software for the dash display and was when enabled when this photo was taken.
Perhaps being included in this image is the equivalent of subliminal information and GM is sending us a message of things to come if we pay close enough attention.
