Anyone else surprised that a rear viewing camera is not included? Maybe it will be an option but given that viewing what's behind has never been ideal in this sort of car, I'm surprised that it wasn't included or mentioned as a possible option. Since they have that beautiful screen in the middle, I'm thinking that it would have been relatively easy and cool addition.
BTW, I've been a long time sport car fan but never owned a Vette. I've had Porsches and currently have a BMW Z3. Frankly they lost my interest with the Mako shark version. Thought that was a cool concept car but I didn't care for it as a full time model. Liked the C6 but the C7 really has be interested. I think it looks fantastic!
It is included. From the "Standard and Available Features" from the Sales Guide:
"Rearview Backup Camera - Standard on all trim levels"
Just keep in mind that that was an early proposed list of features not really intended for public consumption. Note that there are not even RPO codes on the list.

Not intended for public consumption??? In today's Internet world, that should never be expected.
It has a rear view camera. All models. Government requirement for 2014 I believe.
Not yet a requirement. Regulations are being reviewed, but not finalized. At this late date I would be really surprise if this wasn't postponed until 2015 or 2016.
I don't see why it would matter. If a car doesn't come with a backup camera, it's in the stone age. It literally costs less than $5 to add it to a car that already has a screen. Since just about every single car has a screen now, it would be stupid not to include it. (And yes, I know there are still cars that don't.)
Either way, I hope GM did as good a job with the backup camera system as Infiniti did with theirs.
