Chevy needs to release a new Corvette more often. They get great press and positive exposure, and then 4-5 years later, not so much.

Was at my dealer on Tuesday getting my '06 seviced, state inspection, oil change, wiper blades, etc. He said he had an allotment of one C7 and wanted to know what color I wanted. I told him Cyber Gray with Brownstone, Z51 and automatic trans. Will I see it? Who knows but, it sure was fun talking about it.

The fog lights are one of the LED arrays within the headlight cluster.
Sorry Mike, I forget which light/set of lights was the fog lamp. They discussed the lights, including the tail lights, for a few minutes.
ps - This is not my image, but from Chevrolet's site. I will photograph details of the car Monday AM before the show opens and post a few on Tuesday. Jack

The model mentioned today that production would start in August. This is a little later than I had heard earlier.
Obviously, there are some validation issues which they will have to work out before starting the build.
Because of this delay, there might be some C7s heading out to where you live.
Just an educated guess on my part. GM (Chevy) wants as much exposure as possible.
The Corvette today was constantly surrounded by people. No other exhibit at McCormick Place was even close to this in numbers.

At the Reveal, Tadge said they are reluctant to quote a specific production date because of the unknowns which remain. C6 production continues through February 28, at which point they break down the C6 assembly line and start construction the C7 line. Once it is installed, it must be tested and debugged before production can start. While the normal start of production date is the third week in July (the Bowling Green factory closes for 'vacation' the first two weeks of July), nobody would have the huevos to predict a specific start date - given the number of potential problems that can be encountered in the interim.

Don't blame GM for the car not being there? Philly show would get special cars if they moved the date it is held. The Philly show always starts the weekend after Detroit show ends.
Also a GM sales rep told me that the reason this car isn't at every show is because of the costs to move it and set it up. He told me everything has to be done with union labor and it costs $30K everytime the car is moved.

A friend and her husband saw a C7 last week. Her hubby is a retired Ford exec but they love Vettes. She said they were both amazed. Said the finish and depth of the paint job is far and away the best they've ever seen on an American car. Way above the quality of any C6 they've seen.
So, is this quality what we can expect on production Vettes or are these just special show car paint jobs?
