1. You don't know anything about my finances - so stop trying to act like you know everything.

2. Everyone's situation is different - he asked a question and everyone will have a different opinion. I am ok with your opinion what you shouldn't finance a toy, but its still worthless advice

3. Just because OP left out a lot of info doesnt mean you should assume its all negative.

I would say figure out what you can afford per month after expenses and start saving it in a seperate account. If you continued to save every month (without missing a payment) by the time the C7 is available (around 6-8 months from now) then I would imagine you could afford it. Plus you'll now have a nice little down payment saved up!

The Crash had zero to do with the average Joe unless you are talking about a loss in their 401K/stocks mutal funds...It had more to do with the bankers/brokers screwing the living hell out of Joe average with their made up derivitaves (spelling)...

On Topic: OP only you can decide what YOU can afford....

You're right that the bankers were the main culprits. But their 'toxic assets' were toxic because they were based on mortgages that Joe Public wasn't able to pay back. Joe Public was constantly told that he could buy a mountain of diamonds on credit. So he gobbled that story. That's what could happen again.

I wasn't addressing you personally. Writing "One doesn't borrow to indulge oneself" sounded a bit pompous for a car forum.

It's worthless advice in your case, but you don't know what the OP has gone through in his life. We wouldn't have seen all these foreclosures and repossessions if everyone had a clear mind on these matters. Yes it's wrong to assume anything, including the assumption that it's okay for him to buy it; he's probably not asking this question thinking it will have a negligible impact on his finances.
