The C6 rear looks great. Nice and clean. Great curves. Simple, yet bada$$.
The 458 rear looks exotic. Still maintains class and flows well with the rest of the car.
The C7 looks awkward. GM took and bunch of different parts and pasted them together into a boxy mess. Then added on a tacky spoiler just to top it off.
Of course this is only my opinion.

Naw - the Aztec is more progressive - doesn't have those d@mn antiquated round tail lights that belong on your grandfather's car........
Edit - plus, you fail to notice the rear hatch and quarter windows, which look nothing like the C6, and the C7 "obviously" must have copied!

Shared by many . . . who are, by the way, still card carrying Corvette devotees and enthusiasts, loving much about the C7 but mystified by the read end design.

Interesting thread, my first post here. I'm looking at all I can find regarding the C7. The back end has been the weak point for me but the rest is stunning. I really like most of the upgraded interior. Everything is a choice and weighing the good/not so good. I think I'm sold on getting one just not sure if I should wait until the second model year to ensure some (if any) bugs are worked out. I've never owned a Corvette but it's always been in the back of my mind to do so. I'm not brand loyal other than to American names. even if they're names only, I have a '10 Challenger SRT8 and bought my wife an '07 Mustang GT/CS convertible last year. We're keeping both those, the 'Vette is the icing on the cake, so to speak. I appreciate the insight seen here so far. Thanks, Rick.

I agree the 458 is one of the "misses" in the Ferrari design area. It's not as bad as the Enzo, but it isn't a beautiful as other models have been.

Imagine this; 2015 wide body/Z06, ZR1, or however they decide to badge it, is also clad with a more traditional, yet all new rear end!!! This will keep all the rags from complaining about how you can't tell the base car from the hi-po model and make me along with many others some happy m.f.ers. Dam I'm good.

People just can't get past the taillights - then don't buy the car. I said the same thing about the C5s huge rear fascia when it first came out but now I've owned three of them. I'd bet that GM will have a hit when the C7 actually shows up at the dealers - if not from current owners then from new customers. There is still a lot to like about the C7 and some day I hope to own one.

I think that a better-designed, more cohesive, less-polarizing rear end would have virtually unanimous appeal.
The people who defend and love GM/Corvette no matter what, would naturally like it. And other, more discerning folks, fans of great design, would like it as well.
Alice Cooper fans may commit mass suicide however.
