Obviously he was speaking the truth. Though it was not an especially smart thing from a sales standpoint to say at this point. I'm sure the dealers didn't want to hear him say that.
Evidently some C6 owners are dumb enough to not realize the C7 does indeed make the C6 obsolete. People will still buy new C6's.
And?? What's your point?
I bought a new 13 GS just a couple months ago AFTER I saw the C7 reveal. I don't like the looks of the C7. Is that a bad thing?
I love my GS and get tons of compliments on it. So are you saying when the C7 hits the streets I won't get any more compliments? I highly doubt that.
But hey enjoy your C7 that you WILL pay too much for. I'll wait for the better models to show up at a discounted rate.

I was right. You still bought a new C6 because it is your preference.
What's your point?
Some people are just naturally programmed to only buy things when sold at a discount. I'd bet that you had no intention of buying the C7 this year anyway for this very point. But that doesn't necessarily mean that everybody else is over-paying at sticker price. Your new 2013 GS was discounted for a good reason...

2. Accounting: An allowance made for a loss in value of property.

What a joke. I saw the reveal THEN bought my 13.
I love it. Mike Criswell is getting ready to retire on all of you suckers lining up to pay sticker price on a vette just so you can be first on the block. FKN AWESOME!!!!!!
Then you same dopes will be on here whining about how the dealers are low balling you when you go to trade in your year old C7 for the better looking more hp Z06.
There's a sucker born every minute. But hey enjoy your latest and greatest in your minds C7 along with all of the bugs that come with a first production year run.

C7 Owners will have as much right to whine in the future as you are whining about the C7 now.

...because it's obsolete.
I will never pay sticker for a car.
If dealers are selling C6's 10-15 grand under sticker and still making a small profit then they are going to make a killing on all suckers buying at sticker.

Truth hurts? I will bet you already plunked down your deposit. Buyers remorse already? And you don't even have the car yet! Too funny.
Well at least Mike Criswell will be a very happy man this year.
I haven't put my deposit down yet. I'm on pace to buy a new 2016 Z51(and probably doing the museum delivery). I'd have to sell my C5 to get a C7 this year, and I'm not about to do that(I'd be giving up 400hp, half a liter of displacement, and my hard top). Instead, I am saving up until I can afford to buy a new C7 to go with my C5.
Why the hell do you care what people do with their money? Is it somehow taking away from you somehow?
I see you have an obsolete 05 vert. Funny though that your 05 has been obsolete since 06 and it's the same model. Doesn't that really suck?
Then why hang out here? You called another member a "troll" but, to me, the very definition of a troll is someone who has no interest in a car but continues to post to antagonize others... look in the mirror my friend when looking for trolls.

Congrats to you whenever you decide to get a C7. Hopefully in a few production years they will produce something that is appealing to me because I would love to upgrade as I have done about every 2 years now.
I'm just sick of the people bashing on the C6 or any other generation Corvette because they think the C7 is the greatest vette of all time. Yes it's the latest vette and has some nice interior upgrades but the exterior to me is so so.

So why have you upgraded every two years if the old ones didn't seem a bit obsolete to you? 'People' (owners) have bashed the C6 in the CF C6 Forum for years. Are you over there whining about this?
They have also praised and loved them there for years. Same will happen with C7 here.
As for myself, I would say my '05 vert isn't obsolete enough for me to plunk down the bucks for a newer one yet. Part of that is just because I have very simple needs/desires and part is because I am very cheap.

I really don't think anyone (well, very few) are bashing the C6. People are largely discussing how the C7 is improved on the C6. That is just what happens whenever a generation changes and it isn't "bashing" the older generation (unless somewhere is very sensitive to discussing how the new car is improved).
This whole discussion on the "obsolete" comment is overdone at this point simply because people get offended by this when they own the car referred to as "obsolete". Depending on how you define "obsolete" it could be, in fact, true but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It also isn't bashing or a suggestion the C6 isn't a great car. I have always interpreted as the new car having new technology.
The C6 is not obsolete for most owners typical uses, but the C7 has definitely surpassed it in many technical areas.
Hell, my C2 is not "obsolete" for having fun - and isn't that what this is really all about for most of us? I really don't care if the C7 is faster around VIR by a driver whose skill level I will never approach.
The C6 may be obsolete for Tadge Juechter and Randy Probst, but for most of us it's still just fine and more than we can handle at its limits.
