Need a good laugh, read the C7 threads!

The C7 doesn't offer a major improvement over the C6, or frankly, even the C5.
As far as the subjective matter of looks, the C7 has already been revealed, it's not going to change.
I knew I had to have a C5, and later the C6, they very first time I saw them.
The two best relationships I ever had......THEY ordered from the menu.... and shared.
My friends tell me that's too much to ask from a wife.
I guess that's why I'm still single.

Melting Slicks
I have begun to categorize the C7 forum as the "Throw the Baby out with the Bath Water" forum over the unnecessary attitude of debasing the C6 (aka 'outdated') and herald the new king C7. Corvettes are a continuing development and progression learning from each prior generation. Funny how marketing hype permeates mind sets....

An AWD option would have made the C7 a must have.
DCT would have been made the C7 a worthy upgrade.
Worst case scenario, forced induction on the base car, even if it resulted in a smaller displacement V8, would have made the C7 an upgrade for me.
But, the failure of making the OPTIONS of AWD and DCT available makes the C7 a failure and not a worthy upgrade to the C6.

Hey, this is the C7 Forum, I fully expect people to herald the new Corvette.

The main reason I disagree is due to the drivetrain requirements that AWD would entail in terms of wasted space on all models and extra weight on the AWD models. I do think that even offering AWD as an option would compromise the RWD versions.
You had also mentioned the desire for a TT engine, and I can understand that, and maybe one day the Caddy TTV6 will appear, but again, I disagree. In this case it is because I think the TTV6 is much worse than the normally aspirated V8 in terms of exhaust note, throttle response, and linear power delivery. But, the TTV6 does excel at low end torque, and is very well suited to power mods. IMO it belongs more in a GT type car than a sports car like the Vette. Still, an option wouldn't be bad as long as it could fit in the engine bay.
Will be interesting to see how the LT1 compares to the Caddy TTV6 in terms of power delivery.
Finally, I do think the C7 will be a worthy upgrade to the C6, but mostly with respect to refinement and feel. In terms of performance there will likely be marginal improvements, especially in the base car, but I don't think the C7 will surpass the C6Z until the C7Z arrives. And even then I can't see how the gains could be too significant. The C6Z is already insanely fast.

Drifting
I find it quite interesting on two fronts.
1. There are a lot of people registered on this forum that pretend to like Corvettes, but always get flushed out when they try and defend the Viper, Porsche over and over .........etc etc.
2. There are a lot of Corvette owners on this forum that really have absolutely no clues about Corvettes.
Kind if sad ....the second point especially .

Agree. Those are probably the most sad of all. At least they are always overflowing with love and good cheer for everyone not so blessed with their obvious superiority.

Safety Car
It's great having the forum for a number of reasons; there is a lot of experience and knowledgable memebers that we all can learn from, we're allowed to pretty much say anything, so there are a lot of opinions, some based on fact some fiction and lastely there are the pissing contests that are just hilarious to watch development
It makes my day reading this stuff - thanks guys
