What would you do?
I have never driven, much less owned a Corvette, have the wants, but maybe not the patience.
Someone may ask the question "What do you intend to do with the car?" - my answer: "Drive"
Regards,
softouch
- Wait for the 2014 Stingray Convertible; or
- Get a 2013 427 1SC Convertible now

Since you can test drive the 427 now, see how you like it and if it suits your predicted use. No convertible C7 until next year and who knows when the hi performance will come up. If you want hipo and convertible, 427 is the best way. This is the time to get a real good deal on one. Good deal on 427 convertible makes C7 obsolete

427 all the way
Corvette News & Rumors, Concept Art, Drive Train and Design Speculation for the future C7 Corvette
As the forum title implies all anyone has seen are mockups and prototypes.
All of the improvements and upgrades are speculation and corp hype.
Buy the 427 now drive and enjoy it and wait to see what happens with the stingray. That way if you want one, you will know exactly what you are getting, and wont be paying some stupid price.

I'd certainly wait for the C7 vert. It will likely match the 427 vert in performance, will certainly have a better tranny, rear end and interior. It will also have a much better chassis.

Get what you want, when you want. Your main point of discussion is to "drive". Can't drive while your waiting.
I was in the same exact position as you and with the C7 being revealed just a few days later (despitr all the leaked photos and renderings), I still chose a 2013 C6Z over the C7.
Will I regret it? Only time will tell. But, it took me all of 9 years for the C6 to grow on me.....and that is what I decided on with 11 days to the unveiling of the C7.
"Drive"
That one single word says alot. Then again, so does your question of "Should I wait?".
"Wait" = "Not Driving"
Its a tough decision for sure. I had many sleepless nights wondering if I waited, I would pass up a dream at a steal of a price.
Despite all the cool guy bells and whistles of the C7, I am just as content behind the wheel of a brand new Corvette, regardless of year.
This is your decision. And yours alone. Choose wisely because no one else is making the final decision but you.
"Drive" "Wait"
You decide. Good luck.

I could have waited but decided to make it a goal to pick up my slightly used GS last October. The reason I made October the goal? I live in south Texas, where winters are mild. In 7 months I have been able to drive the car 7 thousand miles, in cool beautiful weather where I could really enjoy the car (top off, windows down). I could have waited, but I am glad I didn't
Good luck in your choice!

WHEN do you want to drive? I wanted ot drive this spring, so I got a 427 vert a month before the unveil, knowing full well it was coming, but production wouldnt put me into a vert anytime soon. Being in pa, vert weather comes and goes. I wanted it NOW after several years without one. end of run? yup. obsolete? arguably. fun to drive? no F***** doubt about it. if you want one this summer, get the 427 vert, and then if you want the C7, simply trade up.Neither of these cars are investment grade by any means, they are a financial drain. heck, if you want to save money, get the 427 vert now as a base model not fully loaded, then move up in a few years using the savings for down payment.

2016 C5 of the Year Finalist
But then again life can be short and can "change" in the blink of an eye. I had a good friend waiting for that "perfect" time to get his dream car...God bless his soul, it must've been waiting for him in heaven 'cause he never got it here.
If the C7 is more your ideal "destination"...don't wait for that "perfect" time...get to it ASAP!!

Get the Grand Sport.
Then, after early bugs are fixed on C7, get one of those in 2015.
Then sell me your Grand Sport for 1/2 price..... (I'm partial to silver w/automatic)

C6 will be a good value. However the resale value will take a beating. If you want a great value in a powerful car, and you drive it for five years, you will be way ahead with the C6. If you care about the latest technology buy the C7.

I'm on my 3rd C6 so obviously I love the car. Having said that I have fallen in love with the look of the C7 Stingray and I am impressed with the technology improvements at least on paper. I have looked into Tadge's eyes and believe his comments are way more than the usual hype of a new model. There doesn't seem to be any good reason for him to say that the C7 is a game changer for Corvette unless it is. The numbers will soon be out and he and the Team will have no place to hide. Every new generation of Corvette from the C4 to the C6 has been a real improvement and on the surface the C7 is even more so. Based on all of that my opinion is obvious, go with the C7 and don't look back. I know I am.

get the C7, new style, new tech. Style will run for a few years. A C6 base
through ZR1 If you trade in a couple of years, will take a huge loss. A C6 still
looks good but wait till the C7 hits. Like the head of vette say obsolete.
